At first glance, a pineapple 🍍 looks thorny, with a very hard texture. If one didn’t know any better or didn’t know what this fruit was, she could possibly have the impression that what’s on the inside could be very bad tasting. But once the pineapple 🍍 is cut into, to her surprise and delight, it’s filled with yellow, juicy, sweet fruit.
From what I’ve experienced in my life and witnessed in the lives of other believers is we know how to give an external impression. We know how to “dress” ourselves to look the part of a Christian. We fit ourselves into the right circles, attend the right church, speak the right amount of Christianese. But unlike the pineapple, our internal parts aren’t always filled with juicy goodness. Instead, it’s filled with secrets, jealousy, envy, lust, lies, and other sins.🍍
God won’t force us to make the changes we know we need to make. He, in His loving grace, will shine lights on those things in our hearts that need to be addressed and will leave the ball in our court as to what we will do.🍍
Looking, being, and acting the part will only go so far sisters. We gotta make a decision- will we continue to masquerade in pretense or will we confront those areas so that our inside matches our outside?🍍🍍
S/N: my pic has nothing to do with this post🤣i just had a pineapple on my shirt 😅🍍🤷🏽♀️#brokenbutbeautifullyrestored
“But the Lord said to Samuel, “Don’t judge by his appearance or height, for I have rejected him. The Lord doesn’t see things the way you see them. People judge by outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”
