It was once a campus tee, I have now converted it into a sleeping gown!! 💤 Attempted to wear it during a workout but it was just too big, I was uncomfortable and constantly adjusting it the entire time. Have I had the fastest results? No! But I am 💯 % okay with that. It has been a slow but healthy progress. I workout multiple times a week, better eating habits, and a healthier sleeping schedule (amazed at how important sleep is to your health and weight loss progress). I LOVE the route that I have decided to take. I do all the above and still able to go out with family and friends, and indulge in yummy food 🌮🍕🍔 and adult beverages 🍺🍷🍾. I have learned how to live a healthier/ better balanced lifestyle. To where I can enjoy the good food without completely hating myself the next day, it’s all about proper balance and moderation.
Just a few pounds away from a goal that I have set for myself. Given that it’s almost been a year, I feel like I should have lost more by now but I’m okay with where I’m at and my progress. The scale may not move as much but you can definitely see a difference in my waist, booty, and legs!! Which have all become the favorite things about my body. I love them. And that’s another thing I’ve learned to do. Love yourself, your body, and put yourself first!! Self care and self love are incredibly important!! 🏋🏼♀️

It is crazy how only a few days can make your body feel and look so different. Our body changes daily with the water we intake or the salt or sugar we eat. I can feel so bloated one day and wake up a toned and tight beyotch the next 🤷🏻♀️You CANNOT put yourself down by weighing yourself everyday because it will screw with you. ⚖️It will change daily up and down and you absolutely cannot judge your worth based on a freaking number on the scale. SERIOUSLY STOP IT. 🤬 I have weighed myself every day and it makes or breaks my entire day and that is NOT ok. Your day should be better according to your self worth and your accomplishments in all aspects of your life. Don’t let a dumb number determine who you are. Each day is a new day to improve yourself! Remember you can always start over, but you only start over if you quit, so don’t even let quitting be an option ok?

207.5kg/457.5lbs for 3 at RPE 6 for today's sumo pulls. A little bit heavier than last week, but this moved/felt sooo much better. Took my time off the floor and just focused on maintaining position. Even though it isn't my comp style pull, I've greatly enjoyed my progress with sumo. Now I wait for the hatred @akunne_matata

A friend of mine suggested I listen to the Ted Talk The Power of Vulnerability by Brene Brown and I would recommend it to everyone. I’ve shared before about my struggle with vulnerability and this hit it right on. Something that really struck me was the idea of being willing to let go of who we think we should be to become who we are. I’m guilty of being hard on myself, really hard. I have always had extremely high expectations for every aspect of my life. But what if we let go of that timeline of expectations? If we were as patient and forgiving with ourselves as we are with others? Let go of your expectations, let go of your attachment to the outcome and become who you are. You are worthy of love not because of anything you do but simply because you are. ❤️

It was just over a year today that I started looking into my first at home exercise and healthy eating program.
I wasn't sure I could afford it. I was on maternity leave and top up was ending soon. Christmas was coming and well $$ gets tight.
I was also super skeptical if I would like it and keep accountable to it. Ah the universal human experience of a broken heart. We've pretty much all been there and I'm pretty sure there actually isn't a worse feeling.
People say a broken heart heals with time. I agree with that, but I think there is another piece of the puzzle. A broken heart really heals once you experience more life outside of the relationship than you experienced within it.
The thing that makes a broken heart so painful is that it feels impossible to live life without that person. Everything seems bleaker. Grayer. Like there is no color left in the world.
It's not until you start to see color in the world without that person that you realize you are going to be fine and you begin to heal.
There is no shortcut for getting over a broken heart, but one way to kickstart this process is through travel. Travel thrusts you into a world where your brain is constantly engaged to make sure your immediate needs for food and shelter are met. I will never forget the message this girl sent me back in the beginning of July. When I first heard her story, I was instantly inspired by someone I didn't even know. I saw a post yesterday saying something along the lines of, "even if you keep failing, you're ahead of everyone else who is on the couch." Not exact wording but can I just say, can we not do that? Can we not compare our lives to others? Can we not boost ourselves up by putting others down? Can that be a thing? Because the truth is, every life is unique and different and it's not fair to you and to them to compare ourselves with one another.
I used to compare myself to others and think:
"wow she has a house and I don't" "She double majored and I can't even pass this class?!"
"She's making how much doing her side biz?! and here I am making nothing"
"She looks so fit and I'm not even close to looking like her"
But the thing is..their life is theirs and doesn't even come close to mine and vice versa. And when I really thought about it, I realized how beautiful life really is because every situation is different and every one is going through what they chose to do with their life. They're learning and growing through things that maybe I have already learned for my own life or they're going through things I have yet to experience and/or maybe never will experience in my own life. So can we stop comparing? Theres literally no productivity in comparing.
Every life is beautiful and unique, just how it's supposed to be!
This is a great workout using either option. Workout details below ⤵️ Sometimes we will see a workout with a lot of weight and immediately think “oh, no way. I can’t do that” and scroll right past it. I just want to remind you that there is ALWAYS a modified option and that you CAN. .
This is a Barbell OR Dumbbell Complex. You may NOT put the bar or dumbbells down until you finish the WHOLE set. (Meaning all the exercises) You can AMRAP (as many rounds as possible) this for 20 - 25 Mins. OR pick a certain amount of rounds. (I suggest 5) Make it YOURS. .
8 Reps of every exercise. Challenge yourself with weight. BUT choose the HIGHEST weight you can do your WEAKEST lift. For me; that’s the strict press. Remember: do NOT put down your weights til you’re completed all exercises. Rest then repeat. .
then...set that timer for 60 secs and count how many burpees you can do in a minute. Push yourself. .
