We love organic food, and we love that we're eating produce that's as close to it's natural form as possible, but growing organic produce isn't without it's difficulties. The up and down weather lately hasn't just been hard on us humans struggling in the muggy and wet weather. As a result, Zheng Lu's standard tomatoes and Ben Zhou's cauliflower and lettuce are unavailable this week, however, we do still have Zheng Lu's fancy tomatoes still available (which are totally delicious!)

I had never cooked with tofu before transitioning to plant based. What better way to experiment then with a simple stir fry? Stir frys are so versitile and you pretty much make them according to your own likes.
And let me just tell you this tasted that good, I had my 3 year old convinced that the tofu was chicken 😂
Simple noodle stir fry
About 200g of tofu cut into 1 cm cubes marinate them with 1 tbs tamari, 1/4 tsp sesame oil, 1/2 tsp fish sauce, 1 tsp rice wine vinegar. I then pan fried them on both sides until browned and semi crispy.
For the stir fry I just cooked some chopped garlic and onion until brown and then added whatever veggies I had on hand- broccolini, mushrooms, carrot (I've can also used zucchini and beans), stir them through until coated and then add cooked pad Thai noodles with cooked tofu and another round of sauces. Mix through, then sprinkle with sesame seeds and chopped peanuts and serve.

These balls of joys were one of the favourites from yesterday's wholefood living event.❤️💜 Swapping out cashews for sunflower seeds made them lunchbox friendly, and to be honest, I can't taste the difference.👌🏻👌🏻 Raspberry bliss balls (nut free version)
1 cup sunflower seeds
1 cup frozen raspberries
2 cups desiccated coconut
14 medjool dates - pitted
1 tsp vanilla extract
Place all ingredients in a food processor & blitz away until well combined & clumping together. Roll into balls, coat with extra coconut if you wish or even push into a slice tin for convenience. Place in the fridge to firm up.

Took the kiddies camping last night. They had a blast, but unfortunately there was a total fire ban so we couldn't cook our sausages for dinner. So we had salad, leftover roast veggies and #homemade
rolls, and luckily I'd thrown in a tin of sardines so the kiddies made 'sardine hotdogs'. Fresh air and sunshine (and no devices) are so good for the soul. #camping #paleocamping #eatyourveggies
Have you used blood oranges before? Clean, light, zesty flavors feel so good at the end of a looong day. Got a plate of kale, avocado, blood orange & evoo vinaigrette, fresh mint, toasted quinoa and pine nuts. Those pretties have 40% more vitamin C than regular oranges and the dark pigment comes from anthocyanins - a powerful anti inflammatory antioxidant. They're less acidic and have a strong flavor, and a slight raspberry like sweetness. Add them into your recipes this winter!

We started reducing our carbs in November & have been eating this kind of food since. I’ve lost 7kgs so far & my husband has lost 6kgs. Screw you low fat! 😍Alice’s favourite pork belly recipe:
1 kg free range pork belly
1 Tbsp fennel seeds (lightly toasted)
1 tsp coriander seeds seeds (lightly toasted)
1/2 tsp black peppercorns (lightly toasted)
2 garlic cloves, crushed
Zest 1/2 lemon
Couple pinches of chilli flakes
1/2 tsp dried thyme
2 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil
For the skin:
Extra virgin olive oil & salt.
Put pork belly into oven at 230 degrees fan bake for 30 mins. Reduce heat to 160 degrees bake (not fan) & cook for 1.5 hours. Grill the pork skin at the end to create epic crackling. Let rest before carving (okay, you can pull the crackling off & eat it). I served this with roasted red capsicums, sugar free caramelised onions, and roasted garlic & kale cauliflower mash.
