EID AL ADHA 💔 .
Tomorrow marks the start of #EidAlAdha
- Feast of the Sacrifice .
It’s an #Islamic
festival whereby millions of #Animals
will be #Slaughtered
worldwide. Most of the terrified #Sheep
will have their throats cut publicly and rivers of #Blood
will spill down the streets.
Why is this done? Well according to Abrahamic #Religion
- Allah (God) ordered Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) to slit his son’s throat to prove his willingness to submit and obey orders. As he was about to kill his son, #Allah
replaced his son with a #Lamb
so now many #Muslims
worldwide slit animal throats as a sacrifice to show their obedience.
I personally think it’s a senseless, cruel mass genocide but then again I think the exact same about #Lambs
being slaughtered for #Easter
being slaughtered for #Christmas
being slaughtered for #Kaporos
etc. Many people believe #Religion
to be about #Peace
so how do these #Animal
sacrifice festivals symbolise peace and love exactly?
Yes I understand that those who do this give a third of the #Meat
to feed the poor but why not give them fruit or money instead? There’s lots of meat in stores and in butchers so all this additional Eid slaughter is simply done for tradition.
I’m respectful of people’s beliefs except when they cause harm to others as personal beliefs shouldn’t have victims. Sacrificing animals to ‘deities’ was something people did thousands of years ago. It’s 2019 now. Times have changed. This needs to stop. RIP to all of the animals who will be killed over the next few days 😢 .
P.S. Please don’t generalise entire races, religions, cultures as there are many amazing #VeganMuslim
’s out there too who are trying to change these cruel traditions 💚🌱 .
Also please don’t criticise this if you eat meat yourself as the only difference here is that this bloodshed happens in the open whereas the #Animals
you pay to be slaughtered die screaming in secret behind bloody #Slaughterhouse
walls. Please #MakeTheConnection
and realise that #PeaceBeginsOnYourPlate
