To say I have given up, I have not! I have had plenty of set backs and restarts along my journey! Yes I am human and S*** happens!! I have personally found the more support and encouragement I get the harder I WANT to work to meet my personal goals! I'll meet them, don't you worry. All I ask if you is to keep following me to encourage and support me. Especially on the days I don't want to get my ass off the couch to go to the gym tell me to go do it anyways. Sometimes all a gal needs is some tough love! Today I sucked it up and tired some Greek yogurt. It wasn't awful. Maybe over time my tastes buds will like it. I always try to start my day off with a breakfast I enjoy so then it sets the rest of the day for me to continue to eat good! Did i mention I crushed my step goal? Bench: 115kg (253.5lbs) 3x10 (first and last set) Coach: @houstonwoods First set was a struggle as I barely got 10 reps. Realized I didn’t use a belt, so with the belt my second set went smooth but failed my last rep on my last set halfway through the rep. First time using a duffalo bar, but I won’t make that as an excuse. Failure isn’t an option, so I’m coming back next bench day ready to get my reps with some left in the tank. Day 2/80 got my booty on 🔥🔥🔥 this morning. I mean those duck walks with the bands.....seriously what was that?? 🤦🏻‍♀️ I swear I used muscles today that I didn’t even know I had 😝 This is one of the many reasons why I’m loving this program so much already after only 2 days! 🙌 Not one day in the 80 days of workouts will be the same. Which mean everyday will be a challenge, but this girl right here 👆🏼 is up for the challenge. I am trusting the process with these workouts and the timed nutrition. Man it is soo much food, but it’s so important that I follow this meal plan and eat the proper food at the right times of the day. So far I think I’m starting to get the hang of it, but it’s going to be a work in progress. I know the one thing that helps is meal prepping the Sunday before so I know what I’m eating each day! I just need to make sure I’m eating every 2-3 hours and nothing more in between! So here’s to Day 2 in the books. ✅ Tomorrow is Cardio Core Day! I’m looking forward to seeing what @autumncalabrese has in store for us!!
I promised y’all my social media wouldn’t be a highlight reel - so here I am: sitting on my bathroom floor prepping for a coaching ‘Sneak Peak’, laptop sitting on my toilet lid, robe & bra hanging from the door next to me and looking like a hot mess ✌🏼 . And the beauty of all this is that I CAN work my coaching business from anywhere. Literally {I mean, come on, look at me right now}. Even if it means your bathroom floor because it’s the only quiet room in the house🤷🏼‍♀️ . So, if you need me, I’ll be spending my evening chatting with future boss babes from my bathroom floor and embracing the sh!t out of it 👊🏼
This is a shot I took in one wonderful moment about 3 weeks ago- the full SuperMoon coming up in Teotihuacán, Mexico. . It‘s so easy to collect beautiful moments with our eyes, our phones, our hearts, when we are off work, off stress and off problems. But we tend to overlook all those freakin beautiful situations happening on one regular, stressful day, somewhere in the city. Our minds are closed, cluttered and stiff, and being that way, beauty and wonder will pass us by while we are sleepwalking and complaining. . But really, it‘s up to us. And our willingness to relax ourselves a just little bit. . Freedom and beauty can be found anytime, anyplace. I am aware, that this sounds provocative, but I’ve done, I’ve practiced this on countless stressful days and it always works. . When a few years back I realised I was massively stuck in severe burn out, I had a Cappuccino in the marvelous sun on my day off and ... I just couldn’t enjoy it. I felt numb, sad, tired and half dead. When this struck me, I had to ackknowledge, that I didn’t enjoy pretty much of anything in my life anymore. I was completely out of practice with joy. This specific moment became a turning point and bit by every little bit I brought little joys, little relaxations back into my life on the most average days, and later bigger ones. I looked at the trees. I appreciated the sun going down in autumn and took photos of everything. I looked at people on the street and decided to like them again. I went for breakfast on a Monday morning before work and read Magazines. . I literally crawled back into my own life. . It slooowly made shit things turn into fun things, problems became a bit of a way and then, with a bit more practice, my struggle turned into flow. And of course! I am still working on... with it ;-) Out if my own experience I ask you: Please, don‘t be afraid of your stuff. . We can train our minds, just like we can train our bodies. Your heart, your very own everyday miracles, they are waiting for you. Weak or Smart. . I am a morning runner. I’ve always been a morning runner. I love getting up while it’s still dark and knocking a solid run out. If I run later in the day, I get antsy thinking about the run, I tend to not feel as awake because I’m so used to working out in the morning, and tend to evaluate my runs as being less effective. . But this morning when I got up, I noticed it was even colder than expected. I had 400 repeats on the docket and my legs were still feeling it from yesterday’s squats. I also teach both of my classes today and have an article that I need to finish revising, making me concerned about being wrecked at work from a hard run. I fortunately have the flexibility today to get into work earlier and then run late in the afternoon. So in a very unlike me move, I made the spontaneous decision to delay my run. . As soon as I did, I felt a twinge of guilt. I worried that I was simply being a wimp because of the cold. Even though I had countless reasons as to why a run later in the day would be more effective not only for the training adaptation but also for my day in general, I still couldn’t shake the feeling that I was quitting. . Why? The only reason is engrained habit. I have told myself that I have to run in the morning, and if I don’t then it means I’m failing my training plan. This mandate of course makes no sense on days when I do have the opportunity to run at other times. But as I’ve mentioned before, as much as habits can be powerful tools for positive change, they also can become shackles for negative behaviors. And this is a perfect example of the latter. . Don’t let your training (or life) become the prisoner of habit. Be proactive and intentional in making adjustments to increase the effectiveness of your training and how it contributes to your life. . Interested in a Customized Training Program? Day 2 meals were all on time with the exception of meal #3 !! I didn’t think that on Day 2 my body would scream at me for not eating at exactly 4p! Unfortunately parent meeting at my daughter’s school went longer than I expected. However I did make sure to take my food with me so as I was done I went to my sister’s house for dinner and heated up my food! But I have to say I’ve never been so hungry in my life!!! This timed nutrition is no joke!! Do you suffer from Mental Blocks? I love the "Breaking Free" system Debbie Love (@marcandluv ) created. I've found number 4 and 7 to be HUGE factors to overcome mental blocks with athletes I work with. 4. Script each skill or series of skills using short action verbs to tell your body what to do. This trains your mind to focus on the skills, not on your fears. 7. Journaling- You should get a notebook and record your goals (1 or 2 weeks at a time) and a plan on how to reach these goals. In addition to your goals, you should keep a record of your conditioning and daily thoughts. Depending on how severe the block is you could even set a daily goal. Make all goals reasonable, such as: Perform a skill 3 times without stopping. I've put the link to the full article in comments. :)
