Sumo stance tricet that I did, didn’t get the rest of the workout in. Gym was packed so I didn’t feel like being in no ones way. Working on building stronger quads and squats doesn’t mean you have to lift your heaviest every leg day. Personally I like to incorporate different rep schemes, mobility and exercise variations. Here I am working on getting below parallel on my squat. Something that has taken awhile due to some cartilage issues in my one knee. Notice I do not thrust my hips forward at the top of my squats! Why? Because it does absolutely nothing extra to squeeze your butt at the top of the squat because there is no horizontal resistance. You just look stupid... By not locking out at the top you keep more pressure and resistance on your glutes and quads. I also have my heels raised on 5lb plates. If you have never done this give it a try it keeps more tension on your quads as well. Today I was doing lighter weight and 10 sets of 10. I filmed this at the end so I was pretty exhausted by then. Also that is not my choice in music it is whatever the gym was playing...
Damn low box squats again. These are pretty brutal for obv reasons. Look at the depth for one lol. You would think, oh box squats no prob. You hit 425x10 on friday. Well the last time i did these i hit only two sets of 405x4. So i guess this was technically a pr. First set was the 385lbsx5 i was supposed to do. Then i thought it wasnt nearly hard enough. So 405x5x2. Wasnt that bad 😓. Next week is the last week on this 4 week block. Gonna turn up a lil bit. Then deload and onto some other kind of torture 😆 Note: also did some brutal 4 inch deficit deads against bands with 445lbs on the bar prob 60-80lbs of tension at the top for 2 sets of 5 that @crazycouchy decides to delete the footage of. Losing weight is just a numbers game. The concept of macros, calories in/out, etc. is much more common knowledge for most gym goers now than before. - I think something that is less popular is doing cardio with a caloric goal vs a distance or time goal. Reason why I say this is because people always ask “how long” I do cardio for, but really I should be asked, “how many calories do you do cardio for?” The number is different for everybody.
