I was so lucky on Friday to be spontaneously whisked off to dinner by my bf @marcusdilley
(it’s doesn’t happen much as I’m often the one wanting to plan the dinners out!) and it was such a treat!
He chose @theabbeystalbans
as he knew I’d not been there yet and was desperate to try it.
I can’t believe I haven’t been there! Every single thing I ate, I loved! From the curried butter and sourdough to my rhubarb creme brûlée and don’t get me started on my main!
I took a lot of photos so have decided to split them over a couple of posts. This first one is dedicated to two unusual but delicious cocktails and the gorgeous decor!
🍸 The first was their Abbey Spring cocktail: aquavit, Pernod, manzanilla, lime juice, lemon thyme & sugar snap peas. I was put off ordering initially due to the Pernod but I went with it and LOVED it, a nice mix of sweet and sour and really fresh.
🥃 The second was their tamarind magarita: tequila, lime juice and a home made tamarind purée. Again I was unsure about the tamarind but after talking to the manager we decided to go for it and it was 👌🏼👌🏼
