New to our wine list: ROCO ‘RMS’, Willamette Valley, OR, Brut, NV; & Seghesio ‘Rockpile’, Sonoma County, CA, Zinfandel, 2012
-Rollin Soles, ROCO founder and winemaker, has been making wine in the Willamette Valley for nearly 30 years. Rollin is the only winemaker to have made the Wine Spectator’s Top 100 with red, sparkling, and white wines.
-Edoardo Seghesio first planted Zinfandel vines in Sonoma County in 1895. Rockpile, a narrow ridge 1,200 feet above Dry Creek Valley, has steep, well-drained hillsides with shallow, rocky topsoil that provide for less-vigorous vines, smaller berries and intensely flavored Zinfandel.
