As the sun broke the horizon to the start of my first Atlantic crossing I was posed with quite the concoction of feelings. Fear, excitement, worry, joy but mostly anticipation. I couldn’t wait to see how I would fair in the deep blue, whether I could stand up to the challenge, or if my body could. A healthy fear of the ocean is good, almost necessary but I was scared for the state of my health, and despite it all I pushed forward and its one of the greatest triumphs of my life so far. I learned so much about myself and the journey I’m on, and the fear, now subsided, a simple foot note when faced with a formidable challenge. I use this moment now, to push forward.
