It is not what you HAVE that makes you significant but what you GIVE
As a #teenager
, I was shy. I had low #self
-esteem and never thought so much about myself. Don’t get me wrong, I desired #greatness
but could not see how it would be
I felt I was #ugly
and not #beautiful
. I wanted people to like me but was not sure if they did or not. .
I recall when I just got to the #University
, i would see an influx of our senior #fellowship
members in my hostel visiting other newly admitted members of the fellowship like myself
I felt unloved and unwanted. I recall seeing one of those who used to visit my friends back then and accused him of hating me😂 He was shocked 😳 .
One day something happened to me! My #paradigm
changed. I’d read a book and I’d gotten closer to God
I realized that while I sulked that #people
didn’t care about me, God wanted me to care about others and not myself! I was busy consumed in my own self pity, I was insignificant
I made a #decision
that day and I wrote down in my #journal
- ‘I’m too busy to be lonely’ .
I didn’t use #activity
to drown my sense of need but I snapped out of my wanting to GET from others to wanting to GIVE to them
From that day onwards, I almost can’t spell loneliness 😉 Infact, you need to really book an #appointment
to see me. It’s not pride, I’m busy #makingadifference
is not the absence of #PEOPLE
, it’s the absence of a lack of sense of #PURPOSE
Purpose gave me a #motivation
to always give of myself
Today, what will you GIVE in order to make a difference? .
Giving of your substance to people leaves a part of you with them such that even when the tangible gift is gone, your #heart
still remains with them
to give and model generosity. Your #reward
Have a generous day!🌺🤗
