Between buying a house, organising a wedding, developing a side business, doing my 9-5er, having a social life, attending conferences and training, keeping fit and where possible seeing my fiancé and my family, I’ve finally hit MAX capacity 🙈
If we let overwhelm take over and become stress, our bodies immediately engage its innate flight or fight response! Although this may be a handy survival response should lions be chasing us, when its triggered by the types of overwhelm and stress I’m talking about it can cause our irrational side of the brain to take over.
Typically that means we start behaving in ways that after does not make us feel proud of ourselves: 😡😭🤯🤒🤪! It’s at this point we need to start reassessing and reprioritising! My tips to help increase productivity!
1. Rise early.... As you might know I like to rise early around 4.30am every morning. I do this to get a better start to my day, to give myself time to wake properly, practice mediation, and go through what I’ve got on that day.
Rising that bit earlier gives me a good head start, this is definitely a good thing to do if you have kids.
Bouncing out of bed late, no time to yourself, getting kids washed, fed and dressed is a hectic enough start never mind being stuck in traffic to!
Rise earlier to give yourself some me time, eat your own breakfast first, get organised and you will feel so much better and in control of your morning which will transfer through all day!
2. Get away from all distractions.. If you have something important to do then get away from any distractions, turn off your phone, the laptop etc but don’t leave it in view.
Put it upstairs or out of the road so that you can’t reach across and turn it on again, social media and flicking through your phone will decrease productivity massively, slowing down the time you should be spending on your project or job!
3. Organise your day... This can be done the night before which might work out best if your rushing around in the morning.
Make notes of appointments or meetings or things that are most important for the day ahead.
Scheduling out your days allows you time to plan ahead, to again increase productivity and to help keep you less stressed overthinking and worrying about things that need done!

Planning. How do you plan your day? I've recently started writing out each hour of my day, including regular breaks. Even if I don't take them, it's nice to know one's coming up!
If I'm not writing out my day task by task, hour by hour, I'll use the Pomodoro technique. I use #tomatotimer
and break my day down into lots of 25 minute chunks. I knuckle down as soon as the timer starts, and don't lose focus until it beeps. Then, I'll get up, walk around, please my FitBit a little, and then do another 25 minutes. #pomodoro #working #productivity

When we truly believe in something, such as conventional wisdom, we stop asking questions even if this action is not serving us. The conventional wisdom which engulfs alcohol that you need it to be fun, cool, happy and successful in business is totally wrong. This discovery changed my world. For the first time I started to challenge ‘everything that I thought I knew for sure’ to check if it was valid and supported my goals. This led to a transformation of my diet, mental fitness and business. My conclusion - take to life with a skeptical yet open mind. Test all beliefs and conventional wisdom that might be holding you back because, very often, what you thought for sure was right - is wrong.

All tasks are not created equal. When thinking of all the things you have to do in a day, be diligent about what you place and where.
Creative tasks require the right time and environment. This may be a quiet coffee shop when you time on your side. For most trainers this will be between 11am-3pm
Responsive tasks require less creativity but can be done in more "hectic" environments such as the gym. This could entail going through your entire client list, dropping them a text and seeing if they need any help with anything.
Admin tasks take no more than 5-10 minutes to do. They are usually the minor jobs that take up a lot of mental capacity, I.e. You worry the most about doing them but they don't actually take long to complete. These can be done in between clients in small windows of time.
Be smart with your time management, but also what you allot to do in that time.

Today's Work hack is- Use as a template!
A template is a model or stencil-like document. Templates are awesome for tasks that are created the same way. They help you save time for other tasks that may not be generic.
Do you prepare a certain report say weekly or daily? Keep a template for it! Keep the formulas in your spreadsheets so that all you have to do is plug in your figures. Templates for whatever you may be working on abound on the internet. All you have to do is search and begin working with your favourite!
