Bukaleta is a traditional cup made from clay. It's used for serving vine in special occasions and it's specific to Istra Kvarner and islands of Krk and Cres. Word bukaleta comes from Greek word bokalion or italian boccale. Bukalets are decorated by many stilized designs. Most popular designs are stilized flowers and twirls, but in modern age we use many colourful styles and various designs. In the past only wealthy families had bukalets whose design variated considering the amount of their wealth. The oldest samples are found in cities of Zadar and Kopar with heraldic signs of rich families. The Scops owl is a symbol of the city of Krk. This bird is widespread throughout Southern Europe, Western and Central Asia, as well as Africa. In Roman ages, Krk was called Curicum, while in Medieval times its Italian name was Vecla, and its Venetian name Veglia, which signified an old town. In the 15th century, during the Renaissance, nobles attempted to find meaningful content in the root of the name. In the Venetian name Veglia, they saw the Latin word “vigil”, meaning “awake” or “watching.” Who is awake at night, always watching? The Scops owl! Due to the wrong philological interpretation, the Scops owl entered the coat of arms of the city of Krk. . . #bukaleta #cup #krk #cres #primorskogoranska #owl #littleowl #littleowls #scopsowl #ceramics #art #ceramicart #owldrawing #croatia #history #culture #heritage #culturalheritage #owlsofinstagram #owls #keramika #owly #sove #sovice #ćukovi #unique #instadaily #beautiful #loveowls #lartisa

Trojstva, Presvetog Tijela, Sv. Marije, Sv. Jurja i Sv. Nikole). Godine 1776. je veliki požar opustošio Kotor, a većina stanovništva se seli prema moru. Before coming to populate the present Crikvenica area, local people used to live in Kotor on a nearby hill, which was first mentioned as early as the 13th century. The Kotor parish was part of the medieval town of Grižane, and seems to have had some very devout residents, going by the number of churches here, some of which were linked to monastic brotherhoods (St. Simon, St. Trinity, Most Holy Body, St. Mary, St. George and St. Nicholas). In 1776, a big fire devastated Kotor, causing most people to move to the coast. #croatiafulloflife #hrvatska #primorskogoranska #crikvenica #crikvenicafullofmagic #crikvenicariviera #visitcrikvenica #visitcroatia #beautifulcroatia #beautifulcrikvenica #september #2018 #visitcroatia #visitkvarner #adriaticsea #kotorcrikvenica

#rijeka #fiume #susak #hff #trst #tersatto #fromthecastle #aereal #croatia #borders #kvarner #balcanica #visitrijeka #quarnaro #primorskogoranska #rivercity #port
