I want to preface this post by saying that my road to being more healthy has NOTHING to do with being prettier in one picture or the other. Beauty doesn’t equal a number on the scale or jeans size. Grace and I braved the wilderness and ventured out into Stafford’s first snowstorm the other day ((She and I are obviously on the same page about the recent change of weather patterns 🤣)) We’d had a couple hard days. No no, scratch that. I’d had a couple hard days. I’d had a couple days where I choose to sleep in instead of wake up early to fill my cup before Grace woke up. I chose to take a rest day when my soul needed me to sweat. I chose to not take care of myself first for a couple of days and THE RESULT OF THAT CHOICE had a direct ((uhhhhh prolly we could say negative)) effect on those around me. Grumpy, short, sluggish, irritable. You get it. I’m willing to bet you know the feeling I’m talking about. We went out to hit the reset button a little bit and swipe right to see the TRUTH that the tacky TJMaxx pile hit me with👉🏻👉🏻 This little girl is watching me. She’s watching how I take care of myself, how I interact with others, and how I treat those closest to me. DID YA KNOW THAT I AM THE ONE CLOSEST TO ME? Even before taking care of her, I have to take care of me. And that is maybe the most important lesson that I will ever teach her. I want nothing more than for this little girl to love EXACTLY who she is. It’s my responsibility to show her how. Self care isn’t selfish, it’s the most loving thing we can do for ourselves and those around us. We all have abs but whether they show or not is purely down to your body fat % It’s a goal of mine to have a flat tummy, but due to being pregnant my saggy skin appears more. 10 months postpartum in September of ‘17 and the bottom of my hair was totally destroyed. 😤If you didn’t know I had postpartum hair loss going on in full effect, you prob would’ve thought I had to cut gum from my luscious locks. 💇🏼‍♀️🙆🏼‍♀️If it takes HAIR this long to start looking somewhat “back to normal” (whatever the eff that even is) Why are we as woman so dang hard on ourselves bouncing back from carrying humans in our bodies? 🤰🏼It’s much easier to ask these questions when I’m 24 months removed. I do realize! ♥️♥️♥️I just hope all you mama’s out there on the mend, give yourself some GRACE. @mightymultiples 32 weeks in, 32 weeks out! This is a big milestone for multiples mamas. I truly can’t believe the triplets all fit in my belly just 8 months ago ... The picture on the left was my last ultrasound before my c-section. I swore I was going to throw that tank top away... it was basically the only thing that still fit and I was so sick of it 😂. My belly was HUGE, but looking at these babies now it is totally surreal. 😍 I don’t think I will ever fully wrap my head around the triplet pregnancy experience! ❤️👶🏼👶🏼👶🏼. During this postpartum period, I have focused on self-love and giving myself some grace. I have learned that I have to be honest about my feelings, and to acknowledge when I’m struggling. I have learned to ask for help, and that accepting help is not weakness. I have learned that even though Brad and I are both giving our all, there will still be things undone. I try to tell him “thank you” for all he does (which is a lot!) at least 5 times a day. I have learned, above all, to differentiate between what is in my control and what isn’t. My postpartum advice would be to embrace new experiences, give yourself grace, eat healthy, and practice gratitude. Kids are sickos, whining, needy, germy, tired...and frankly, so am I. 😂 But working out for me is my me time. I take better care of them when I’m taking care of me. I know that from my own personal experience. 🙌 So yes, I set the kids down to relax, and I got in my 20 minute workout. You heard me, 20 minutes!! Some people: “How long do you think it will take you to get your body back after the baby?” 🤔 Me: “I didn’t know I lost it” 😏 Let’s be real. I used to be one of “those people” who thought that way. I spent years of my life truly hating my body. The way it looked, felt and moved. I constantly criticized it, compared it to other bodies and wanted to change everything about it. So of course, the thought of having a “post-baby” body is something that caused me even more anxiety. I thought I’d have to sacrifice my body for my baby, and that I would love it even less after a baby. I thought all that was just normal. Now there are definitely sacrifices that have been made for Ledger, but my body isn’t one of them. 💓 It wasn’t until my mid twenties when I started to ACTIVELY work on loving my body through thought and action that my mindset changed. My body has taught me so much over the past 7 years. I’ve watched it transform physically in so many ways. Watched it drastically shift its composition. Watched it move weights that I never dreamed it could move. Watched bend and stretch in ways my high school cheerleader self would be so jealous of. Watched it heal itself with food rather than medicine. Watched it GROW A HUMAN! Watched it recover from a major surgery. And I’m currently watching it continue to feed said little human exclusively while it also begins to do all those other sports/hobbies that my mind and soul love to do. 💓 Throughout this journey, my level of love and respect for my body has continued to grow. But over the last 15 months (of pregnancy & postpartum) it has skyrocketed 😍 It’s incredibly capable. It will adapt to whatever I challenge it with. It will continue to give to me exactly what I give to it. I can’t believe I’m posting this. Why are we always blaming the abs? 🤷🏼‍♀️ Abs catch a lot of grief postpartum. Don’t get me wrong, we could all use a little of the RIGHT kind of ab work after they’ve been stretched to their full extension, but we will chat about that later. You know which muscles need a little TLC after holding your baby belly up for the past 40 weeks? Those beautiful back muscles. 🌀 Remember when you were pregnant, the curves of your spine are severely over-exagerated from the baby belly causing a deep curve in the low back and your upper back muscles are working as hard as they can to hold those heavy breasts and tired shoulders up. The poor neck and head muscles are just plain tired, they spend so much time looking down at baby while nursing. Oh the back muscles! Mine are starting to hurt just remembering the nursing days. 🌀 As promised, today we did a chest opener and back strengthening this morning. I thought I’d share a little sequence from my morning postpartum class. I’d love to have you join next Tuesday. It’s sped up, so go a little slower and savor the movements. I know many mothers after they have kids they stop taking care of their body's or just feel ashamed coz of stretch marks or extended skin. Don't worry about be proud of them stretch marks and skin you have the most beautiful kids from your body. Don't be ashamed to start again and feel beautiful in your own skin. No one is perfect, if you see fitness models on photos their photos are all edited and don't worry they're not perfect either and we idolize them because we want to be like someone else. Be your own kind of beautiful be comfortable in your own skin. Don't be afraid to start today and do something for yourself and feel better. Making changes in our diet has been a slow process. But once I decided to make the change, there was no going back 😊 Almost two years later and we’re now cooking together!! . Before I started my health journey, I remember making all these meals that either had a bunch of starches (rice, pasta, potatoes, rice... and more rice 😆). When I tried to start adding veggies or just changing the meals, it was TOUGH. . My kids didn’t like the food, my husband didn’t like most of it, heck I was even disgusted sometimes!! 🤢 . But I didn’t give up, and there’s been some trial and error (and still is) but we’ve grown in our knowledge of new recipes, flavors, and techniques. AND since we’ve been getting back to whole simple and healthy foods, we’ve also grown our wallet! 💵 💰 . My point? Eating healthy meals takes time to get used to when you’re starting out!! We had to find dishes and foods the whole family liked and how to make them so they were actually edible 🤣 But I have to say that every burnt, mushy, and tooth breaking dish has been when trying is worth it. We’re finally getting somewhere. . What’s your favorite family dish??

Weight loss—scrub edition. (First pic was in 2016, second is today). . . . I look at these pictures and I see a lot of changes. Firstly, idk why my eyeballs were popping out of my head—stress? Idk 🙄😂. I also didn’t put much effort into how I looked. Is that bad? Of course not, but I think I did that so that I wouldn’t be noticed and maybe that is bad because the reason behind it wasn’t a positive one. I’m at a point in my life where I feel comfortable with my appearance without all the makeup but I also like to dress up because it makes ME feel good. It’s nice to be comfortable both ways. AFTERMATH // So...keeping my insta as truthful as I can, this is currently my life • after you give birth, not only do you start to produce milk, you have what is similar to your period (for up to 6 weeks sometimes) and you still can get cramps in your tummy due to your uterus shrinking back down • no one tells you these things as it might seem somewhat embarrassing to others but after what has happened I am in awe of the female body and what it can/does do • kudos to all the mums out there who deal with this and a baby, you are incredible • to all the partners out there who shy away from any of this stuff - be the strength for your partner, cause this is when they really need you • #postpartum #postpartumbody #mum

I had the pleasure of trying out a sample workout of a brand new fitness program that launches in January!! It was non stop for 20 min and it was the fastest 20 min of my life. For real! SI joint pain also frequently occurs during pregnancy as a result of the increase of relaxin, an appropriately named hormone that causes the hip joints to become loose and less stable. It’s a sharp and sometimes excruciating pain in the lower back adjacent to the tailbone. { Day 11 - #12daysofPARENTHOOD } . // THE INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL PRESSURES OF BODY AFTER BABY// . My transition into motherhood in 2014 was both both beautiful and horrible. The birth experience itself was tough, traumatic actually. . But once my baby girl was here, I slipped into a state of bliss. Sure the nights were long, and my lady parts felt ruined. But my girl was so sweet and in my mind just perfect. . I was hyper aware about Post Partum Depression because of my history of depression since childhood. But it never came, I didn’t experience the baby blues after we got home from the hospital, I didn’t feel sad or depressed, I just felt on top of it. This baby stuff was easier than I anticipated (I was blessed with a great sleeper so that really helped!) For me a big part it was that I was getting out, I was active on the regular. I went for weekly walks and got in exercise quite regularly while the baby napped. Movement was huge for my mental health, but it was also a keystone for my physical health. See, my weight and body image have always been front and centre in my world, it consumed me for all of my adult years. I battled eating disorders and over exercising, and even through pregnancy I made it a focus to be a #fitpregnancy role model. . The baby weight came off pretty easily for me at first. I was back to pre-pregnancy weight by 2 months post partum and tried to get right back into the routine as soon as the doctor ‘cleared’ me at 6 weeks.  After months of exercise, I had yet to really change my body composition the way I had wanted to. Sure my scale was registering pre-pregnancy weight, but everything was just so different. I was carrying fat where I hadn’t before, my hips and even ribs felt wider and my clothes didn’t fit. I started to think about returning to work and the pressure started to build. This is when the real depression hit me hard. . I had been living in Lululemon and loving it. But the thought of fitting into my old ‘work clothes’ terrified me. I felt overwhelmed by the task of changing my body in two months. I felt betrayed by my body.... (cont’d in comments). . I am finally living PAIN FREE!!!!!!! 💃🏻🎉 you have no idea how amazing this is! (Don’t mind my little photo bomber 😍😍) For the first time in 16 months I can be a normal person without fearing a sudden gush of blood or sharp excruciating pain meds wouldn’t touch. 🔆🔆🔆🔆🔆🔆🔆🔆🔆🔆🔆🔆🔆🔆 I realized I hadn’t given an update on my diagnosis after seeing the pictures from my laparoscopy. The final diagnosis was 2 things: 1️⃣ scar tissue adhesions; my bladder was tethered to my abdominal wall 😓thanks to these pesky unavoidable things which is a huge source of pain in and of itself. 2️⃣ I have late onset endometriosis. 🔆🔆🔆🔆🔆🔆🔆🔆🔆🔆🔆🔆🔆 My doctor led me to believe that my endometriosis was a direct result of the c-section. However, the laparoscopy disproved this. I saw the pictures my self and my uterus was covered in about 12 spots of endometriosis. 😰😭 my condition is still rare because 16 months ago at the time of my c-section I had a perfectly healthy uterus with no hint of endometriosis. My doctor has physically held my uterus in his hands 3 times and never once saw a hint of endometriosis. But now... I have it 😭😭😭 🔆🔆🔆🔆🔆🔆🔆🔆🔆🔆🔆🔆🔆 Knowing that this is not the secondary form of the disease is actually a huge releif. It means there was no malpractice and it is just the cards I was dealt in life. 🔆🔆🔆🔆🔆🔆🔆🔆🔆🔆🔆🔆 Another HUGE releif is that I had 3 beautiful healthy babies BEFORE the disease manifested itself. There’s a good chance I might not be able to get pregnant again and that’s actually OK. I feel content with my family how it is right now. In 5 years I will probably have to have this procedure repeated and that’s OK to. Well, it actually sucks, but this is my life now. And I can accept that and be OK with it. 😊 #endometriosis ⭐️🌟⭐️🌟⭐️🌟⭐️🌟⭐️🌟⭐️🌟⭐️🌟⭐️🌟⭐️🌟 Thankyou @rexburggravityfactory for making me feel like a kid again!
