Pretty sure this guy was playing some Hendrix. Or maybe Zappa, it kind of sounded like a Zappa solo. Anyways it was really good, and it made me realize that for as much as you can practice, there's someone better than you out there busking out tunes.

But first, coffee! If in Cap Hill @oddfellowscafe
is always a good idea for brunch, HH, or even any hangover cure from a night out. Locals and tourists alike can appreciate this establishment. The long standing favorite has an incredible location, in the heart of everything happening in Capitol Hill!

I'm going to get pretty personal today as I've been a mixed bag of emotions. Through it all knowing I have this man right here is everything. He would die for me and do anything for me and I truly hope all of you experience that kind of love someday, if not already.
I've been estranged from my biological father since I was 7. My mom had an arranged marriage to him & never loved him. He was a violent person who abused my mother regularly & ultimately sexually assaulted her during the process of their divorce. He held her at gunpoint & tried to kidnap me at school but she was able to trick him, went inside alone, & immediately told them to call 9-1-1. She saved our lives. 17 years later & he's out of prison. He's been harassing me since the day he got out, first by social media until I blocked him and his family members & then he found out where I worked, kept calling & emailing my business email & line until finally I had to tell my employers what was going on and they blocked the numbers. Per his emails, he still blames my mother for "putting him in jail" and that alone terrifies me. Clearly he is not rehabilitated. Joe & I have been waiting for him to show up. It's been almost 2 years and nothing.
Well he showed up to my office yesterday & it was a moment I can't really put into words. I was shaking & frozen. I had so many emotions of fear, anger, sadness, & embarrassment. I hid in the bathroom while my boss gets him to leave and texted Joe. I go back out to see if he's gone and to talk to my boss. Not even 10 minutes later Joe is at my office hugging me & walking the perimeter of the place to make sure it's safe. He stays with me & we leave together, driving around back roads to make sure he's not following us home & called the police to see what our options are in the future. I've always felt safe with Joe but I didn't ask him to come & he didn't even hesitate. I trust him with my life & I hope he knows I would do anything for him as well. Thank you for being my one & only Joe. And to all the survivors out there, I'm here for you. You are not alone.

This weekend was really beautiful
Things change it's always for the better, it always has and always will, you just got have the will, to not give up, no one will ever know what's inside your mind, success takes time, so does everything in this world, or so that's what I've learned, and everything I'll ever have is earned, fuck a handout, all it does is lead you down the wrong route, where defiance is their only science. Never place your reliance on someone else, be self reliant but not defiant, you never know who's plotting on you, only the closest to you can stab you in back, don't ever be afraid to subtract, keep your thoughts abstract 💢🖤🌊
A little alpine lake beauty for your feed this morning 😍 Yesterday we finally hiked to Colchuck Lake for hike number 19 and it was absolutely stunning! Such an ethereal & gorgeous place. I've been wanting to do it for years & it exceeded my expectations. We started the hike around 8 on Friday & took our time up. Arrived about 10:30 & there was hardly anyone at the lake! Spent about 2 hours there just enjoying paradise. About an hour and a half in 2 big groups showed up but it was peace & quiet for most of our time there as the other few people were quiet & spread out.
Going early on a Friday was so worth it & I'm glad we were able to take the day off! Only encountered 10 people up & many more down & I'm sure Saturday is much worse even if you start early. Wildfire smoke haze had cleared up considerably. Amazing views along the way that you probably couldn't see a week ago. The lake was still a little bit hazy but much clearer than it's been based on photos I've seen on Instagram. Imagine this view completely clear though, you could make out every little vivid detail on those epic peaks!
If you haven't done this popular hike you need to! As for difficulty I was expecting it to be crazy hard based on trip reports but I was pleasantly surprised to see it was pretty moderate and I've done harder. Don't get me wrong the elevation gain is tough, especially the last mile and a half and super rocky which hurt my knees, calves, & hips but I just didn't think it was as hard as others have said. Keep in mind though I've been hiking all summer & stay active in the gym and these are all factors. My suspicion is a lot of beginners do this trail due to social media which is why so many have said it's very difficult. As for any hike always be prepared and take your time if it's difficult for you! It's not a race & enjoy the nature!
