Tuesday 16th January - today session was a tempo run. 8 x 800 meters (which is roughly about half a mile) at my 5km pace with 90 seconds recovery. Had a mile warm up and a mile cool down as well.
Caught a train to Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire from London Marylebone and warmed up around the beautiful surroundings of the Aquadome in Ricky before hitting the path along the Grand Union Canal, then crossing Cassiobury Park in Watford.
Managed to do this session in 1-01-11, running 7 miles (11.26km) and burning 1,062 kcal.
The session was great (and nice to see some winter sun) but I think I was a bit slower than my current 5km pace. Still, workout done. No niggles and full of positivity right now.

This week we are going to have a series of posts focusing on applying everything discussed over the past two weeks, starting with identifying goals, narrowing down your goals into habits and then minifying these habits into something ridiculously small so that you cannot fail to take action.
Starting small with habits such as drinking one glass of water a day, eating one serving of vegetables or practicing one minute of mindful relaxation will seem ridiculous and most people will laugh at such a goal. In fact the main concern for most is that one repetition is simply not enough. That is the point though as before you get the benefit of exercising you have to do the exercising in the first place. Remember, most people have already faltered on their new year goals because they set goals which were not realistic. Today is ‘Blue Monday’ apparently the worst day of the year particularly if living in the northern hemisphere. Here in London it has been grey, wet and cold, not surprising that motivation and willpower are at their lowest. It is in these days that that ridiculously small mini habit will keep momentum going which is important in moving forwards. 💫
So let’s start by creating a habit plan and for today let’s start big with your goals for the next 6-12 months. For me I want to eat healthy, drink more water, relax more, get stronger and read more books. Start with just getting your goals written down on paper and then circle 1-4 of these goals to focus on. Tomorrow we will then start to narrow these goals down to full size habits and then narrow down further into our mini habits. 🏃♀️🏃♂️
