Don’t ever “try” to be real or authentic, it’s a gift for a few. Just be YOU!
❓Who are you surrounding yourself with?❓ Do you go out of your way to spend time with those who make you a better person? Who give you energy and fire you up?
Or are you wasting time on people who are negative, that drag you down and who don’t believe in you?
Community is more important that we realize, and so is being around others who IGNITE us.
In my honest option, most of us need to spend less time doing what other people think is best for us, and more time on figuring out what we really want and developing ourselves.
That might seem selfish, but think about it... Are you really doing the people in your life much good if you’re not living life as the best version of yourself?

70.3 million in 3 days! This movie definitely is a thinking person film. So many different meanings. From my point of view it’s about us black people and US meaning the United States. We’re so scared of terrorist from afar when it’s the terrorist from within, domestic terrorist that we have to worry about. It’s about classism, culture appropriation, women empowerment, black girl magic and so many more wrapped up in one movie.
I think this is one of those phrases where the intent or spirit of the phrase was lost and it’s meaning has changed over time. I believe the original context or intent of the phrase was the idea that if a man did what he was supposed to do and kept his woman relatively happy she was less likely to behave in ways that stressed or annoyed him. Which would result in him having a happier life theoretically. Unfortunately the era of female entitlement has came along and caused a lot of women to be so self centered that they don’t think and operate in ways that actually lead to them keeping their men happy. And a lot of the things they’re unhappy about or complain to their men about don’t really warrant negativity. There are a lot of women complaining because they didn’t get their way. Or they’re judging male behavior because it’s different than what they would have done. And that has made it virtually impossible for some women to be happy no matter how good their man has been to them. Because men are never going to think and act like women, so there are women that kill their relationships by creating unnecessary conflict and drama. So this phrase doesn’t seem to really reflect the current dating situation based on how much women feel they deserve and how much men are supposed to be doing in order to get with them these days!

- I was sent this post and asked to share my thoughts on it. I can’t think of any reason for a woman to make a drastic change to her appearance without finding out how her man would feel about it. Ultimately it’s the woman’s choice to do whatever she wants with her hair but that doesn’t mean doing whatever she wants is the best thing for her relationship. Physical attraction is very significant so I don’t think it’s ever a good relationship move to do something to your appearance that causes your spouse to lose their attraction to u. I think a woman that discusses her style change with her man at least shows she is considerate of his feelings and that will go a long way towards a man trying to be open minded and deal with something that he may not find attractive. A lot of women seem to believe that their man is supposed to be attracted to them no matter what they do to their hair and that couldn’t be further from the truth. Killing the physical attraction in a relationship is very significant because it directly impacts the sexual desire he will have for her and can cause him to start paying more attention to women that wear their hair in the styles that he finds attractive. So this is a very sensitive area that a lot of women have unrealistic views on. So I don’t think a woman can do any harm by simply discussing it. Having a “he better like it no matter what” kind of attitude isn’t very realistic or conducive to having a healthy relationship that lasts!
