On Sunday one of my friends gave a great analogy for this time of year; she said she felt like she was sliding headfirst toward the end of the year, as if she was on a slip & slide, arms flung out the front, with water and dirt all splashing up into her face as she did her best to keep it all together & keep on track. I feel exactly like that, only maybe as if I was also blindfolded: not even able to see what’s ahead or predict when something will splash up in my face. I LOVE Christmas, I love Christmas events, Christmas shopping, Christmas music, Christmas foods, but this year has me so bamboozled. I feel like I’m actually not coping, and I never like to admit that. When I got to work I even had lights flashing behind my eyes and was worried my vertigo might come back, but it hasn’t thankfully. So my Essential Rewards (monthly order) arrived today just on time for the School Holidays and crazy Christmas season.
As many know I don't drink alcohol, energy drinks, coffee or tea except when in Taiwan. Pretty boring I know.
NINGXIA Red is my go to drink.

I'll be honest I was like sure a sample I'll try it. At that point I was still having the after effects of Reba's traumatic born, iron levels were on the floor. I was napping between 1 and 3 hours aday to just get though to 7pm.
I had one at lunch, I was still awake at 8pm. I was thinking this is ok. So I got ahold on more info and started reading all about this red drink.
4 years on, I nearly never go without it.
When overseas I have it on hand. Reba had a upset tummy. I was happy knowing she was getting all the nutritional content she needed.

Kinder excursion to Donegans Farm today, and a few weeks back, I thought it would be ‘fun’ to tag along as a parent helper.⠀
New found complete respect and awe for kinder teachers.⠀
How the hell they deal with 24 5-year-olds for that many hours a day, every week, and still manage to address the kids in calm, supportive, and patient tones... it’s beyond me! I presume wine is involved most evenings, but still, it’s an incredible effort.⠀
Tommy has been at Black Hill kinder this year, and the educators are absolute superstars. Amazingly, no farm animals were injured in the days activities, and a massive hats off to Josie from Donegans Farm, who had coffee and fresh scones for the adults. ⠀
Made. My. Day. ⠀
(On a side note, got told separately by two different kinder kids that I look really old. Refrained from telling them that kinder excursions are bloody exhausting and and that every parent there was struggling to remain standing. Did tell one of them that I’m actually 106 years old, just to blow his mind. Seemed to work)
Did you know that you can take your own container to fill smoothies, juices, milkshakes & other drinks in? Most places are more than happy to put your drink in your container, instead of a plastic disposable one. I've been using an old milk bottle 😉🌏💚 Also, incase you were wondering, this basket was from a lovely lady on @gumtreeaus

Теперь мне интересно, а вы пишете цели на год или делаете карты желаний? Особенно интересно, многие ли ставят целью выучить английский? (если да, то советую сильно конкретизировать, не оставлять просто английский, а написать, что именно хотите улучшить (здесь смотря для какой цели он вам нужен), с какого уровня дойти до какого, на какой курс записаться, иначе это 'выучить английский' будет из года в год перетекать.

Last year I started a “Santa sack” tradition where the girls pick 5 toys each that they’re no longer playing with.
The idea is Santa’s elves will come and take these toys back to the North Pole and fix them up for kids who don’t have much this Christmas.
It gives them a chance to reflect on how lucky they are that they have so many toys and learn to give up a little to help others. (Plus we get rid of 10 toys that are cluttering up our house!)
I made a little video of the elves coming for the toys last night and my girls we so chuffed to see them!
It’s one of my favourite traditions.
Clearing the fog
🤕Suffering from brain fog? Experiencing levels of high stress, anxiety, irritability? Have a lack of energy or simply can never remember where you put the keys?
🤦♀️You're definitely not alone. Our modern 24/7 go go go world has lead to us overworking, over stressing, under sleeping and eating a nutrient poor diet. One of these things alone can have a major impact on cognitive function so when you put them all together, the compound effect can be a recipe for disaster.
👎The end result of this is it leaves us underperforming each day, in our work, relationships, as a parent, teacher and provider and with our own self as we fall further and further away from our goals.
💁♂️So what can we do to clear the fog and reset the mind when life demands us to keep moving forward at a rapid pace.
🛑Apply the breaks, slow down. Meditation can be a great way to do this. As little as 10 minutes can clear the mind.
🤸♀️Move, exercise, hit the gym, do yoga, go dancing. Whatever you like. The positive cognitive effects of exercise far outway the physical, through its release of feel good hormones and neurotransmitters it can go a long way to improving mood and mental clarity.
🌜Get a better night sleep. It's well documented that poor sleep impacts cognitive function. Getting to bed earlier as well as removing yourself from artificial light and stressful situations before bed can improve quality
🥕Eat your veggies, and your proteins and your healthy fats. The food that you consume has a direct effect on your cognitive function. Consuming good whole foods will ensure you nourish both the body and mind
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⛅️ Clearing the fog will help you gain clarity and shift your mindset. A clear mind is a peaceful mind, it’s a mind that can take action and through that allow you to reach your greatest goals
