A tick off the bucket list 🦁
A snarl of displeasure!
I photographed this big male leopard a couple of days back as he lay up in a tree with his impala kill nearby.
A hyena lurked around and he did not enjoy it coming into the area - he also didn't enjoy the loud sneeze of a guest on a vehicle next to us and this is the moment I captured!
Apparently he is often seen and while is overall very relaxed does not like certain people. Apparently one ranger always used to cause him great unhappiness so much so that it was best not viewed by him. We were asking ourselves what would cause such behaviour - perhaps it was his smell or could it be a visual thing (even while seated inside a Landrover)? Either way I have noticed before how these cats definitely show a variety of bahaviour towards different people.

Nyala Antelope are sometimes confused for Kudu or Bushbuck. Nyala males and females both have stripes, but the males are a dark browny colour with females more redish brown. Males have horns, with a single slight twist that grow straight. The males ‘shave their legs’ and are light brown from the knees down. Eating mostly leaves as their diet, Nyala are usually found in thicker bush and known to be shyer and more elusive of the antelope.
I will miss these relaxed, warm days at the #kruger
safari (amongst other beautiful memories 🇿🇦 gave us). Also extremely happy to wake up in my own bed ✨😍 #backhome #happy
