Dennis Johnson, a security officer at @seattlechildrens
can describe the hospital at night with just one word: unpredictable.
Dennis has worked different shifts and at all campuses during his five years at Children’s, but he most often works the night shift at main campus.
In his role, Dennis advocates for patient families and staff and provides compassionate customer service. But, above all, Dennis says his role is to keep anyone who comes to the hospital safe.
“I like working with my team to determine what is best for the hospital and how we can keep staff, patients and families safe.”
Dennis has also enjoyed getting to know patient families, sometimes chatting with them as they stroll the hallways or driving them to Ronald McDonald House. He is personally invested in their safety and strives to make their time in the hospital as comfortable as possible.
“I want to advocate for patients and families,” Dennis says. “I don’t always know what has brought them here, but I treat them all with the same care and compassion.” Interested joining our team? Check out our careers site to learn more.
