It's another gloomy day with chances of rain here in Okinawa, Japan. That means no sunflower fields for me today, but it's a good day to brainstorm some DIY spring projects for the blog, sit down and enjoy a good cup of tea (while the kids are still at school) that is. Here's a fun story about this picture, my sweet friend Christine she also happens to be my neighbor has been so wonderful and I cannot thank her enough for going through my bucket list with me. She has four kiddos and we wake up at 5am so we can get ready, get the kids ready for school and drive where ever we need to be by 7:30am so we can make it back in time to pick up the kids from school. Why don't we just do it during the weekend you ask? Well, weekends are family time for us plus I want my pictures to be crowd-free hehe. Now that you know how early we're on the road I remember this morning well. We woke up to cloudy skies with a bit of rain and I almost canceled the trip, but I didn’t I had to go and do it. It was such a cold morning and believe me when I say COLD because I don't think that cold exits here. It was so cold when we got to the beach that we were all bundle up in large sweaters hauling our backpacks, tripods, camera, hats the whole works! It was so windy that our hats kept flying off. We would take off our sweaters, run, take pictures and run back to put our sweaters on. Boy were we cold! But worth it, the pictures came out so beautiful and we made it back in time to pick up the kids 🙌🏻. .

What an unexpected surprise today. 🤗🐬. Went snorkelling at Rainbow Reef, AMAZING. Saw some massive lobster 🦞 hiding amongst the array of stunning fish. Photos don’t do it justice! Book your holiday in paradise travel

Don't forget to BREATHE✌️ The quality of our breath is linked to the state we are in. Can you add more depth to your breath? ✨ When you feel stressed, anxious or rushed, simply start focusing on your breathing. As you increase your awareness of breath, start to slow it down. Even more, lengthen the EXHALES more than the inhales. Other words, if you breathe in for a count of 4, breath out for a count of 6 or more.
This activates the RELAXATION response in the body - the parasympathetic nervous system. You will feel the soothing effects on the body & mind right away 🌿

A daggy
#flashback to the first stamp in my very first passport. Back when most Aussies tested international waters with a cheap and cheerful jaunt to the likes of Bali or Thailand, rather than dipping my toes, I took somewhat of a plunge. I pointed at the golden-turquoise palm clad posters in the travel agent's window. The posters that had been tempting me through that very window each time I had visited the local cinema for months. I'll bet the agent was chuffed, having just landed a relatively lucrative five star sale with almost no work on her part and easily convincing me to spend a week in Singapore on my way home (sold!)
.
Back then, nobody had heard of the Republic of Maldives. People kept asking me to repeat the name of that impossibly colourful
#islandparadise I had visited. And now, about 40 countries later, I keep pushing Thailand back, I'm still not sold on Bali and I haven't had another relaxing beachy holiday. I like to explore. I need to experience. For me, my memories of the
#Maldives are tangled up in thrice daily buffet visits... and the simple joy of finding a different potato dish on the menu three times a day and not having one repeated until the eighth morning!
.
I like my oceans on the equator.

I’ve got Bahamas on the brain today 🏝💭 .
Just booked a cruise on Royal Caribbean’s newly amped Navigator of the Seas 🚢 going to Nassau and their soon-to-be-launched private island, Perfect Day at CoCoCay! The Navigator is decked out in Miami street flair, and CoCoCay will be an insane combination of thrill & chill. I can’t wait!!!! 🥳
