Saturday mornings mean baking up some coconut oatmeal muffins and watching The Office reruns😜 Wanted to spend today at the pumpkin patch but not sure if this weather is going to let us🤷🏼♀️ May just end up being a chill Saturday filled with relaxing on the couch! What are you up to today?
#coconutoatmealmuffins #healthymuffinrecipe #happysaturday
It’s been beautiful and sunny all week which is not exactly the ideal weather for a cozy fall breakfast, but I decided it’s time to let the pumpkin spice obsession begin anyways - ‘tis the season, after all 🤷♀️
So today started off with these paleo pumpkin pancakes! Recipe by @fitfoodiefinds
- I added extra cinnamon, plus ground nutmeg, ginger, and cloves (not called for in the recipe) cause I like my pumpkin spice a bit stronger. Topped this stack with roasted pecans and a mix of natural peanut butter and pure maple syrup melted together to drizzle on top! 🎃 Went to the trouble of making pancakes and the maple pb syrup ended up being best part 😂 🤷♀️
//So I might have been pushing things a little too far these days, i’ve spent the last few nights feeling guilty and anxious and haven’t been sleeping well again. Doing my best to show myself lots of patience and kindness and remind myself that recovery is not a race. I want to recover - but it’s a hard process and it won’t happen instantly by tomorrow, so why am I pushing myself so unnecessarily hard? Challenges are good. Change is good. But everything all at once is too much for anyone to handle. A lot of changes have happened for me recently, and I am grateful that i’ve become self-aware enough to notice that I need to slow down and allow myself to process everything before any real progress can be made in my recovery. Even if it’s a little cheesy I love the saying “you can’t pour from an empty cup” and I believe it’s true - even if you’re pouring right back in to you. So instead of pouring from my cup today i’ll just be over here pouring more peanut butter syrup on these pancakes and taking it slow on my only day off today 👌🏻

If you've never done a dietbet, it is very simple. You bet $35 on yourself that you can lose 4% of your body weight in one month (times your weight by .04). The $35 you bet on yourself will go into a pot with all of the other players bets, and at the end of the month if you lose your 4%, you get your 💵 back, plus you split the pot with everyone else that lost 4%. That's it! I’ll be giving a lot of information and advice, as well as workouts and a Quick Start Guide to get you off on the right foot. It’s going to be a really good game, with a ton of accountability for you and resources to make you successful! I'll be coaching you through the entire time, and it really is a motivational platform. I’ve got your back and will be doing it with you every step of the way! You are so worth this. No shame, just support❤️

Saturday brunching on this toast duo 😛 my body is exhausted from a busy week and a late night so I’m taking today off from the gym and focusing on just relaxing. You don’t have to be super productive every single day and sometimes the “lazy” days are the ones that help you the most in the long run! I used to feel guilty for not getting anything done, but now I can just enjoy it 🙃
I hope you all have a wonderful Saturday!

it’s been a longtime coming bc for the last 2+ years i’ve been couchless and doing a lot of floor sitting #gradstudentlife
. but out of #selfcare

plans for the day include noshing on my all time fav toast combo, baking something fall-y (we had ❄️ here this morning! 😬) and a whoooole lot of couch lounging!

What are we waiting for?
I often wonder why we stall in making the right choices for our relationships, Body and career. Ultimately, it is fear of change or the unknown.
The one shift that took me a long time to make was accepting my body.
When I look back at my life, I don’t have regrets but I do wonder what it would have been like if I wasn’t afraid of my food and concerned so much with what I looked like.
I missed out on:
😞Better relationships with loved ones
😞Going for bigger goals
😞Being present for family
😞Feeling confident and making better choices.
What are you missing out on by not accepting and loving your body?
Body dissatisfaction robs you of life. It takes away the joy you could be experiencing right NOW.🙏 How are you going to feel if you look back on your life to realize how much of it was wasted on negative thoughts and behaviors towards yourself?
The Pleasure Plan starts October 24

Self-care has been hijacked
by pretty Insty pics, and
marketers trying to sell a service,
taking advantage of your untethered soul,
your lack of inward connection and truly
yourself and what you MOST need.
Self-care is giving yourself what you need.
Not just bubble baths and chocolate bars,
but difficult conversations,
compassion for your mistakes,
kind words to your body,
pushing yourself to your uncomfortable edge.
It is permission to believe that you are worthy
without ever lifting a finger.
11 days till Halloween 🎃🎃🎃 Looking like I'm missing a leg so may go as a pirate 😉😂 I don't think Jasmine likes the look though 🤣🤣 Off to my "AM workout" ... it's 1130 here so technically it's still morning right. 😃
Which do you prefer, AM or PM workouts ? ✌🎃
😋 anyone else love sardines? Lol idk when I became such a fan, but I certainly enjoy them now 😇
You would be surprised about how many people are uncomfortable about the #fatmama #fatrunner
hastags. Even my sister @ceceliamecca
expressed concern. I get it. Our current social context places #fat
as bad. And insult. Like stupid/lazy/ugly. But rest assured. That’s NOT what I mean. I use it as a descriptor. I am a size 20, my stomach jiggles, and I take up space. I own it. I am also smart, awesome, funny and motivated.

Simple Fall veggies and fluffy eggs to start off this chilly and slow-moving Saturday morning. I couldn’t quite decide what I was feeling after this morning’s workout besides needing alll the greens 🙌🏻. I ended up being out pretty late last night and may has drank quite a few ciders, bits it’s amazing how a good sweat sesh and a wholesome breakfast makes you feel back on track so quickly 💪🏻. Like I always say, it’s all about #balance
and last night was one of the best nights I’ve had in awhile 😊. I woke up feeling very thankful about having the amazing and fun support group I have 💞.

Happy Saturday, everyone! I hope you all enjoy your day and maybe reach out and tell someone you’re thankful for them 💞.
Honestly, I love being home. I continue to have to unlearn the lie that life is significant and meaningful only when we are producing, moving, going. I love slow mornings, cozy spaces, quiet, and calm. I truly believe I need days and moments like this to be able to enter my world well. It might seems paradoxical but the most loving thing we can do for others is care for ourselves. When we do this, it allows us to care for others from an honest, full and generous place rather than a depleted, exhausted, obligatory place. You are allowed to do what you need. What does that look like this weekend? .

A full day of eating doesn’t mean you don’t need breakfast. That’s not how “energy balance” works. Your body still needs fuel and nutrition. You don’t have to:
- save room for your next meal
- avoid eating to “make up for it” if you’ve already eaten
- chose something less satisfying because you already ate/will eat something else
- do anything else to “earn” the right to eat

it’s cold, officially fall, and i’m on a healthy bread kick.
pumpkin is one of the best known dietary sources of beta-carotene — which the body converts into vitamin a — which offers protection against a multitude of heart disease-related illnesses. it is also high in potassium, which has been associated with preservation of bone mineral density and a reduced risk of stroke. specifically in breads, studies have shown that the addition pumpkin puree to whole wheat flour significantly enriched baked breads with potentially bioaccessible angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors, which help keep blood pressure levels low. who would have thought bread could be so tasty and so nutritonally cool??

When you are living in alignment, body, mind, business, & spirit, abundance flows through your life. Are you listening to yourself & the Universe?
Make a list of things you’re good at & see if your current situation matches. Goal areas: body, mind, business, spirit.
A snapshot of my story:
Business: I freakin love what I do. I love educating, connecting, & helping people heal & grow. I love healthcare & I’m damn good at my craft.
▪️I’m good in radiology, I can draw blood & start IV’s with the best of them, & I can sling a c-arm around in surgery like a pro. These are gifts & a reason I’ve been pulled back into the clinic setting.
▪️I’m good at connecting with people. Raw honesty & vulnerability. Nutrition & wellness coaching is about knowing people and connection. Macros & the science stuff can be learned. Connecting is a gift.
Body: 4-5 d/wk, 1 active recovery, 1 full rest day. Combo of walking (10k/day), @3kings_athletics
programming. Used to kill myself metconning 2-3X/day 6x/week on poverty macros. Life tanked. But I learned, made changes, & now found my sweet spot. @mpfitpro
is helping me to rehab & grow my booty.
Nutrition: Intuitive eating & listening to my body. Occasionally track macros. I earned this right by mastering the basics and learning to listen to my body’s cues. AFTER effing up more times known to man. Body image issues, eating disorders, following every trend, every diet. I prefer lower carb during the week with 1-2 refeed days.
Mind/Spirit: daily I read, research, write, reflect, & pray. I have a morning success routine. Weekly I surround myself around a community of people that exude positivity & ambition. I take time for self care, & doing what I need to do to fill my cup so I can fill others.
Have you looked at your lifestyle recently? Are there changes you to need to make to get where you want to go? You create the life you want for yourself. Sometimes we just need a guide & reminder to help us get there. ❤️
So tell me, what are your gifts? They can be anything, I want to get to know you!👇🏻
Saturday Mornings are for:
- sleeping in -killer hammy/glute workouts
-baby 🍑🍑 pumps
-lots and lots of coffee.
Happy Saturday friends!
I used to be team all-or-nothing. 😑 Either I would eat “clean” and train 6 days a week - sometimes twice a day - for months on end OR I would “fall off the wagon” and use this as an opportunity to eat unbelievable amounts of foods I wouldn’t normally allow myself. 🙈
The binge-restrict cycle was my life for many years.
To the outside world, I was the “healthy girl” that was so “dedicated”. Behind closed doors, I was isolating myself, hating my body and eating myself sick, only to restrict again the next day. 🙉
(This is my personal experience, so it might be different for other people)
After 2 years of choosing recovery every single day, I can now say that I love food, but it doesn’t play a huge role in my life anymore.
I eat when I’m hungry and I eat what feels and tastes good. 😌
When I feel like moving my body, I walk my dog, dance around or occasionally lift weights (sometimes just once a month 😬).
There’s no rigid structure or routine, because I’m busy building and running my business, living my life and connecting with the people I love.
My priorities have shifted and all I can say is that it’s liberating to make friends with food and your body. 🙌🏻

Sometimes recipe developing is a glorious freakin occasion and sometimes you try to make pecan pie bars and end up with cinnamon flavored scrambled eggs on top instead of pie filling vibes. We laugh and move on 😏 Chai Spice Pecan Bars MAY be coming soon, but this photo might be it. You’ll have to drool over the idea of it with me for now 😂🤤 Happy Saturday rockstars ✨

Self love, self care and responsibility.
Self care can look different for every person because we’re all unique individuals with differing beliefs and needs.
There’s all this talk about self care and self love, but if you don’t love yourself- you won’t do the self care. It’s your responsibility to make yourself your biggest priority. Every single day. ✨
The other side of “self love,” I see a lot is when people continue making choices they know aren’t good for them (ie not bringing them closer to being the best version of themselves) but they chalk it up to being self love, purely as an excuse to not change their actions. ✨
Self love can’t be making the same choices and expecting a different outcome. Self love is so much more than that. Self love is being able to accept all parts of yourself. The dark and the light. Honoring all parts of yourself. But it’s also taking responsibility for the fact that sometimes you need to make changes in order to improve your life. By doing this you expand your ability to love yourself that much more.
There’s an infinite amount of love inside each and every one of us. And by noticing our patterns + conditioning and saying, “hey maybe there’s a better way!” We’re able to get that much closer to who we truly are- I think that’s radical self love. I think there’s always more.
So really the question isn’t whether or not you love yourself, but how can you love yourself EVEN MORE? What patterns can you change? How can you add even more light and love? ✨
It’s your responsibility to find out. And you got this babe.

Other than rejecting the diet mentality, I’d say the most crucial aspect of transitioning to Intuitive eating is unconditional permission to eat food. When I started recovery from an eating disorder I had to eat all the foods and it was a serious challenge to make that transition. My clients report the same experience. In todays diet climate it seems the war on food is more complicated than ever. Orthorexia is masked in the “clean eating” movement. Diet culture not only encourages disordered eating, it glorifies and praises it.
Social media adds a whole new level of body policing, comparison, and shame. I see so-called fitness influencers restricting apples and bananas. APPLES AND BANANAS 💔! ➡️ BE REALLY CAREFUL! Anyone modeling that behavior in the name of eating less than X amount of carbs a day, for weight loss, is doing some serious restriction! I want to be crystal clear, I will never encourage anything even remotely flirting with disordered eating on this page. I hope to give you education, permission to opt-out, and help you understand the risks if you restrict.
Remember, 1 in 4 dieters will go on to develop a full blown eating disorder. None of us are like, “I wanna develop the mental illness with the highest mortality rate” when we start a diet. Be cautious with diet cultures sneaky promises and lies. And for the love...if someone is encouraging you to restrict effing apples or bananas, RUN away y’all! ✌️🖤✊ #therapythoughts #intuitiveeating

got my mind on my matcha and my matcha on my mind 💚
Food is food. Avoid putting it on such a pedestal.
The first way diet culture harms us is by disconnecting us from our bodies and telling us to listen to an outside “authority” instead of our bodies’ wisdom. Our bodies know what they need and there is no one size fits all diet or quantity of food. Our food needs vary by day, by age, by stage, by season, by activity level, by cycle, by so many factors. As a teenager, Weight Watchers told me how much food I was “supposed” to eat every day, how much was supposed to be “enough,” and I believed them. I tried so hard to be an A student, like I always did, but my body needed more. If I had eaten all my “points” and was still hungry, I though it was my fault. I learned ways to ignore or mask my hunger. I got good at it. I got so much praise. I was following the plan, yet I was actually starving for years. Weight Watchers and so many other diets are literally starvation diets. The number of calories they tell you to stick to is much lower than the Minnesota Starvation Experiment (go google it if you want to know what diets do to us). So the natural result was that my body eventually fought back. I started binge eating every night after focusing my entire day on sticking to my allowed number of points. The binge-restrict cycle got to the point of being diagnosable as BED (but that wasn’t a diagnosis back then). At the time, I felt like such a failure. I felt like something was really wrong with me. Now I know, my body needed that food. My body was making my drive to eat stronger and stronger. If binge eating is making you feel bad about yourself, know that you’re not doing anything wrong. Eating isn’t wrong or bad. Your body is trying to protect you. You likely need to eat a lot more throughout the day, of foods you actually want, to restore balance and nourish yourself. Start giving yourself what your body wants instead of judging it or believe that someone else, or your internalized diet mindset, knows better. Your body wants what it wants for a reason. #bedrecovery #bingeeating #bingeeatingrecovery #emotionaleating #edrecovery #bodytrust #nomorediets #thanksweightwatchers #weightwatchers #intuitiveeating #allfoodisgoodfood #eat
Started off this weekend the best way I know how- sleeping in and a delicious breakfast! I normally wake up at 6am but I let myself sleep in until 7:45 am this morning which is HUGE for me. I decided to start my day with my classic waffle recipe which you can find on my feed and my first @rebbl
drink which was SO GOOD. It literally tasted like chocolate milk, but is healthy, vegan, and caffeinated! What’s your favorite way to kick off the weekend?
Exercised my mind and body last night in this lovely place ❤️ .
The park hasn’t been as busy lately with the cooler weather settling in, so it’s been even easier to dive deep mentally. Per usual, I was listening to the Food Psych podcast (Episode #165
) and Christy was discussing her career path. Being the total cheese that I am, I snapped this photo of the literal path I was walking on and got to thinking about my own career path.
I’ve always been very interested in nutrition science, but not much in the field has resonated with me as much as HAES and intuitive eating. I’m devouring this information with a passion I haven’t had in years! It’s so exciting, but also a little intimidating to catch up on all that I’ve missed. .
So please, drop any suggestions below for books, online courses, podcasts, other instagram pages I should follow, etc. to help me continue my journey! 😊

This costume tho (😭🤣) anywho.... There’s so much I had to learn the hard way 😂 Turning 24 today, I have to share the most important lesson about myself I’ve ever learned: BEING SKINNY DOESN’T MAKE YOU LOVE YOUR BODY!
Sure, for a few hot minutes of the day I was happy that I actually reached my “goal weight”, wore a size 0, and the abs to prove it.
BUT, for the other 90% of the day, I WAS CRITICIZING MYSELF LIKE CRAZY 💩 (And I’m not alone. My clients and students tell me the exact same thing ☝🏼)
It’s like you don’t realize what your body actually looks like when you’re so hyper-focused on every inch of it. It’s distorting, it’s unhealthy, and it’s called body dysmorphia. You’re not alone, you’re most certainly not a bad person for going through it, and most importantly it CAN be healed so you can have your LIFE back 😍 ...but it takes some work.
And the most important step forward you can take is to ask yourself this question:
WHAT DO YOU WANT MORE?
👉🏼Your life as it is right now? (The one with obsession, criticism, anxiety, restriction, binging... etc etc? 🤨)
👉🏼Or the path unknown that leads to healing and happiness in the long run? (The one with deep personal growth, mental health awareness, ED recovery, and self love 💕)
Honestly, it’s your decision and I could never make it for you. BUT BUT BUT BUT...
Somehow ✨I found it within myself✨ to take the path of healing 👉🏼 and while you can see it’s not perfected quickly, sometimes I still struggle with my body 👉🏼 I’m free from the MAJORITY of all the things that used to hold me back from living my best life 😌
Aka, finding FOOD FREEDOM (free resources in my bio!!) has helped me to completely:
✅ stop binge eating
✅ stop counting calories/tracking macros
✅ stop obsessing in the mirror
✅ stop battling anxiety around food
Trust me, life is more than food and your body babes, and when I look back at my close to lifelong battle with food and my body 👉🏼 I realize it doesn’t matter how skinny you are. It matters what you THINK OF YOURSELF 😘💗
PS I’m spending the my birthday dinner with my family eating hibachi 🥢and I have the #foodfreedom
to actually enjoy it 🙌🏼
You are a Genius!🤗 This combo is like an orange cream sickle! *Orange Juice *Honeydew Mellon

Happy weekend, friends! Ran a few miles this morning and now going to devour these maple peach oats! 🍑 I love using frozen fruit when it’s not in season - especially peaches! I just sautéed them in a pan with some coconut oil until they became soft and let out some of their syrupy goodness! 🤤 Threw them on top of some oats and added some almonds and maple syrup. Now to gobble this up and start celebrating because it’s my daughters 3rd birthday! 🎉 I’ll just be over her bawling at how fast time has gone and what a truly amazing little lady she’s becoming. 😭😍 .
Hope you all have a great Saturday!
These Pancakes are my absolute FAV weekend breakfast 💯. •
Pictured are @cookieandkate

“If I listen to my body and eat intuitively I’ll just eat bread and pizza all day because I have no willpower. So I have to restrict pretty often” 😐⠀
This is exactly what my client told me the other day when we were talking about intuitive eating. And she’s not alone. I know many of you can relate to her statement. ⠀
I told her a few things that I also want to share with you guys: ⠀
✨there’s no such thing as willpower, short term it might work. Long term it never works. ⠀
✨where else are you restricting? Mental restriction can also cause you to feel out of control with food. ⠀
✨ for your body to trust you, you must trust your body first. And it might take awhile since you haven’t been “there” for your body for so long. ⠀
✨ look at your relationship with food as any friendship/ relationship you have with another person. If you’ve been betraying your friend, he/she will have a hard time trusting you. It takes time and consistency. So for your body to trust you again, you need to be a good friend to it.⠀
✨ intuitive eating isn’t about eating junk, processed foods all the time and never eat veggies again, as so many people think it is. Once all foods are allowed and you feel neutral towards them they lose power over you and you no longer have the urge to binge on them or to resist them. 🍕⠀
Lastly, I want to share something that might be helpful for you to know; when I have days where I do eat lots of cookies, bread and other fun foods, my body naturally craves greens, grains, fruits etc shortly after! 🥕🥑⠀
And I would’ve never reached this point if I didn’t fully give myself permission to eat anything I wanted! ⠀
—-what’s your biggest obstacle in listening to your body? Let me know so I can support you! 👇
I just listened to an awesome podcast on postpartum body image by @mindfulcounseling
and it brought up so many strong feels!
I remember walking into a group class after having Myree and explicitly stating, “I’m here for the endorphins.” 🙋🏻♀️ I’ve always despised the terms “body back” or “bounce back” in relation to our postpartum journey. Our organs have shifted, our hips have widened, we have given f*$ing birth! 🤯 Our bodies didn’t go anywhere! They were meant to change. So why is there an (unrealistic) expectation to get them back? Why does culture tell us that there’s something wrong with our new bodies?
Having struggled with disordered eating and body image myself, I personally choose to opt out of this sort of messaging. I have an extremely hard time following any account that even mentions restrictive eating, short term dieting, or posts before & after photos with a focus on aesthetics. It does NOT motivate me. In fact, if what you’re subscribing to makes you feel like you need to be a physically different version of yourself... especially after giving birth (ahem, after creating a HUMAN)... then I encourage you to opt out of that garbage. Just say No to the shame game. 🙅🏻♀️
PS I hope you know that I’m not anti-fitness or a promoter of wreckless/binge eating. Obviously the mental health and energy benefits are 💯. I’m just super passionate about this topic and I often need the reminder myself too!

I finally made this video! It took me forever to do because I didn’t want to make it too long, so I made it as short as possible! I hope this helped someone today, and if you all have any questions or doubts, please feel free to ask!! 💖
