All writing ✍🏽 with some play time!
I’m Jacqueline and want to share this story with you.
Growing up, I had difficulties with reading comprehension and staying on topic for writing assignments.
My teachers spoke harsh and negative words to me, which I ended up internalizing up till my college years.
I did not perform well on state tests and found myself seated in remedial classes for reading and writing in middle school and college.
Although I managed to take honors English in high school, I still had struggles with writing.
Talk about awkward.
But writing remained my passion.
No matter what, I maintained journals to capture my imagination through stories, poems and letters.
I knew no one would ridicule or speak harshly to me about my writings.
This became my practice space to only get better and stronger with my words.
All of this changed for the good once I learned the necessary writing skills, gained the right teachers and mentors, healed from the traumas of writing and reading poorly, and received confidence as a writer.
Today, I am a writer, content writer, ghost writer certified English teacher, Master Lead teacher and English Department Chair at the secondary level.
I write blogs, features, social media ads, books and web content.
I became fascinated and obsessed with the fact that it’s possible to make money online as a writer.
Now, with over 18 years experience, I’m helping brands, authors, ministries and businesses grow their reach and exposure through storytelling.
In case you didn’t know, stories sell.
People connect with stories because they come from real places of your life.
Even fiction has real elements and aspects from life.
What’s a writing area or any area in life you’ve overcome?
