It costs a lot to sound this geeky:
No seriously. I just got my jaw sling. Yep. Sling for your jaw. #jawsling
. I'm #curious
about what that hashtag will look like... Anywho, as a #chronicpainwarrior #spoonie #blahblahblah
, etc. I'm still tryin' to find effective #painrelief #doohickies
for those pesky left sided issues I have. Recently, I looked into my jaw. I have #TMJ
(it blows.) And bizarre inflammation issues JUST on the left side. So half of me gets all prudent and offended at foods, has poor taste in judgement for "what's friend and what's foe" #foodsensitivities
, and likes to get all uppity (and red-ity as well. #turnsred
). Sometimes I can't even move my jaw. 2 thanksgivings ago I could not partake in assumed delicious Thanksgiving grub. I probably handled the mash potatoes ok though... But yes. Eww. Pain is gross. And it really affects my life like no other. It's like my other "child" (my first being Sascha my #germanshepherdpuppy
). When my 'child' is in pain, it's hard to focus on anything else. It's cost me jobs in the past because I couldn't concentrate. It has ruined dates. It has hit me with no warning, leaving me sitting in grocery store aisles ( #embarrassing
) . I try to act like it's not so bad. I pop pills like a mofo, I jerk around and spasm and 'let it pass' like a champ, and I rock the gimp look like a rockstar.
And I'm always looking for solutions. Might as well put my tried methods on view.
So this is my #jawsplint
dealio. It adds space in between my jaw so they don't grind, clench, and cause signifigant pain. My whole left side is tight. All the muscles clench and release on their own time #fnd #fndwarrior #functionalmovementdisorder
. I have no control. And it's very noticeable in my neck and jaw because the pain causes strain and pain in my head. It also seems to put pressure on a nerve in my ear (#hearingaid
) and eye, because I see colors every 30secs (Ask me about my colors #auras
). So I figure working on the jaw is a pretty good place to look into lately. In essence, I have to wear this for 120days, do daily jaw exercises, and reteach my jaw to relax. I also can't say Ts, Ss, or Ths.
