WHAT I DO AFTER VACATION!!!
Vacations are meant for fun and creating memories. Sometimes you bring back a few pounds along with those fun memories too! So what’s a girl to do???
• Check the guilt at the door! No shame in your game, sister! You came, you saw, you ate all the things, and now you move on. There’s no room for guilt, shame or embarrassment. • Resist the urge to get on the scale. Who needs that kind of negativity in your life? Just put one foot in front of the other, doing the right things and the vacation bloat you came back with will go away soon enough. • Return to healthy eating right away! Indulgence is fine from time to time, but continuing the food fest is just silly. We WANT to feel our best, so pile on those veggies and restock your body with all those vital micronutrients and antioxidants!!
Long term results only last if you stay consistent. That means enjoying the special occasions, but returning to life as you know it soon after. Remember, it’s not the celebrations or blips that cause us to keep weight on....it’s the avalanches that ensue afterwards. So enjoy your time away, but also look forward to that feeling of health and vitality that’s waiting for your return.

Eating fresh vegetables does not mean you are on a diet!
Something to remember ⬆️⬆️ Instagram can be such an uplifting and motivational place for anyone working on themselves. It can help to keep you focused and accountable and show you what people are capable of when they put their minds to it. It can offer you a support network like no other and is an endless wealth of ideas and tips and tricks to make your journey a little easier. That being said it can also be a toxic place and can be really damaging when you start comparing yourself to others, especially when you aren’t at the top of your game yourself. So this is a reminder that your journey is YOUR journey and we all have struggles even if there not highlighted with a Valencia filter on our news feeds! I try to be as honest as possible on here and let you know when I’m struggling or when I’m not eating what I should or moving as much as I’d like to be but the truth is, even my feed is sugarcoated. Not on purpose or because I want to hide anything from you guys, but because posting on here also takes motivation and dedication just like my healthy lifestyle does and the truth of the matter is sometimes I just don’t have either! So here is my confession that this year has been bloody hard for me - it’s not been all carrots and cartwheels 🤸♂️ I’ve gained and lost the same stone and some days I’ve felt like giving up! BUT I haven’t. I’ve picked myself up each time and given myself a stern talking to. I haven’t posted much, not to hoodwink you, but because no one wants to see pasta 3 nights in a row or a dinner that I just can’t be arsed to make pretty because sometimes I JUST WANT TO EAT IT (before it’s cold!). I’m feeling good though after a couple of days back on track, yes I might be back to wine and cheese next week but I’m trying and that’s the best I can do, and it’s the best that YOU can do too! So basically this massive essay is to say be a little kinder to yourself, just pick yourself up and keep on trying and don’t compare yourself to anyone but you yesterday ❤️✌🏼 P.S. fair play if you’re still here, this was a long one!
Some days when everything in life feels like a little too much it is ok to take a step back and just listen to your body. .
Although I do put a lot on my plate and try to balance down time into my days. Sometimes feeling anxious and a bit off can’t be helped. .
My best advice and what I find helps for me, is when your feeling like this, take a step back and tell yourself it’s ok your not feeling 100%. .
Get out in nature and remove all external stimulus. I find this makes me feel so much more balanced. .
Followed by a bath with lavender oil and an early nights sleep 😴 .
Hope this helps anyone out there that is having one of those days too ✌🏻💛🧡

Planning for healthy snacks can help satisfy hunger in between meals and keep your child moving towards his goals. And of course it is a good habit and a strong barrier for a possible obesity problem now and in the future!
Snack is different from meals or junk food given there is a certain purpose and provided in small volume/amount.
Let him make his own trail mix with unsalted nuts and add-ins such as seeds, dried fruit, unsalted and fat free popcorn.
Portion snack foods into baggies or containers when you get home from the store so they’re ready to grab-n-go when your child needs them.
Combine food groups for a satisfying snack—yogurt and berries, apple with peanut butter, whole-grain crackers with low fat cheese.
Spice up raw vegetables with dips. Let him try dipping bell peppers, carrots, or cucumbers in hummus, yogurt or guacamole.

BREAD?! As part of a healthy, balanced diet? 😱🍞🚫
bread has been public enemy number 1 when it comes to weight loss thanks to diets such as Atkins etc and has formed itself quite a bad rep over the years 😣 and yes whilst the refined white stuff isn’t advised due to its ability to spike blood sugar and insulin levels and leave us hangry soon after (which can then lead to overeating - not ideal for weight loss) ... there are bread types out there which can actually benefit us and should be included in our diets 🤗
rye bread is always a staple in my nutrition plans, as it hosts a variety of nutritional benefits:
1️⃣ it’s considered the ‘super’ grain as its significantly high in fibre giving you that fuller for longer feeling (which will result in less mindless eating = WEIGHT LOSS 👌🏽) .. and high fibre also contributes to improved digestion 🙌🏽
2️⃣ as rye bread is composed of larger molecules (compared to its white refined counterparts) it’s harder to break down so actually helps to regulate blood sugar levels
3️⃣ it’s heart-healthy ♥️ and can help to lower blood pressure
so whether you’re topping yours with some crunchy peanut butter 🥜 or avocado and eggs 🍳🥑 incorporating this whole grain variety into your diet is only going to help you on your health and fitness journey 🙌🏽
