Completely focused today at the gym. No distractions, just me, the weights, and my music. I’ve been a little distracted the last couple weeks. But not anymore, I’m less than 8 weeks out from my meet. I’m still in shock that I’m actually competing.
When I first started training this way, and discovered powerlifting I always told myself I can’t do this! I’m not strong enough to compete, people would laugh at me if I stepped out on the platform, and saw the weight I was moving. But it’s not about that, I know I’m not very strong, but I can only get stronger. For me, it’s about going outside of my comfort zone, and showing people that if I can do it anyone can. So come Aug 11th, I will be going so far out of my comfort zone. Luckily I have some great supporters. And a coach who has been here for me every step of the way! Also rocking my @won_killyourcant

Relax, and don’t be so hard on yourself. Remember the reason WHY you take time off- to keep your hormones balanced, to gain some muscle, strength & stamina back
Embrace your body at ALL stages! You can’t be stage lean forever 🤷🏽♀️ and if you are, it’s probably compromising your health. ALSO, you’re “off season” body, might be someone’s goal body. A little fluff ain’t gonna hurt anybody!
ENJOY date nights with your man, family dinners, treats with your kids...whatever! Have a dessert, glass of wine, popcorn at the movies. It’s all about BALANCE and it’ll all buff out!
Go to the gym, push heavy weights, ENJOY the extra energy for killer cardio sessions. GROW, BUILD, KICK ASS! Put in the hard work 💪🏽 Remind yourself of why you’re doing this and to continue becoming a better version of yourself

5 years ago, I didn’t like where I was in my career, I knew I was capable of more. I tried hard to overcome many challenges, learnt from my mentors, spent nights studying and practicing what I studied at work. It’s paying off finally👏👏 I have a great job where I’m valued and respected and a superb team to learn from and work with and more so an amazing circle of support in the healthcare technology industry🙏🙏 Personally I’m at peace and have moved on from a lot of toxicity, something I thought I’d be stuck with forever! 🙄there are some more aspects to work on and I have faith that it’ll get better with time 🙄
The toughest one is my journey to be fit and in a form I dream about every single second! 😊😊I’ve had enough many years of eve-teasing, discrimination, breakup and even a failed marriage where some losers used my weight as a reason for whatever shitty business they did! For a long time I let it get to my head and heart, affect me in a way it destroyed my self confidence and my belief system! Not anymore! This is a challenge for me and I’m not quitting once again 👏👏 There is no shortcut, no easy diets, no overnight workouts or teas or patches that’s going to get me there! Months, maybe even years of clean healthy nutrition and consistent workouts challenging myself and pushing myself more than what I did yesterday is going to get me achieve my goal! ❤️❤️I cant wait for that day!

There is a time and a place for casein! I usually suggest to just focus on getting your over all protein intake throughout the day with as much whole food as possible. The studies for casein are there, but with anything else long term consistency of getting your protein in throughout the day will reap you more benefits then always relying on a supplement.

Casein is a slower-digesting protein Whereas Whey is digested more quickly by the body and may be “most beneficial” when consumed immediately after workouts.
Casein protein, like i said before takes longer for the body to digest, which means protein will remain in the system for a longer period of time. This could “theoretically” provide its own benefits for people attempting to build or preserve muscle tissue. I usually only use casein when cutting (usually towards dinner calories) in hopes of preserving some muscle. But no supplement is a magic fix for anything. Ever since we bought our house last summer I have dreamt about working out in the patio area in our backyard what an amazing day to be able to fulfill this dream!
Today kicked off the first day of our June challenge group and 80 day of session groups and for many of my girls it’s their first day truly on their health journey. I am so proud of what I’ve seen them do so far and I cannot wait to see the transformations they WILL see!!! My cup is so full to be able to touch lives and help others get on track to leading happier and healthier lifestyles.
For me, exercising every day, eating right, and working on my mindset will help me prevent future health issues. Having heart disease on both sides of my family you always tend to wonder if you lean towards that tendency. This is why I promote health and fitness. Ever since I met Ali Tessitore, my goal has been to fit confidently in some Nike Pro booty shorts.
I know, I know...very strange goal. But I always admired the girls with nice booty’s and legs...especially since I’ve struggled with cellulite since I was a teenager.
