Message me if you want me to look after your dog 👍🏼
It was great to train this little pocket rocket again at the end of last year. I first trained her over 8years ago. She's done so much with her life since I last trained her about three years ago. Including going into business with her sister @carena_west
, who I also used to train. They have have kept their involvement in fitness and wellbeing by starting their own fitness apparel line. Starting with their very own set of compression tights. Go check them out at @cliquefitness
TGIF y’all. I really mean that when I say it. This week has been exhausting and rewarding. My body has been worked out harder than it has in months. I’ve done more deadlifts and burpees than I could count and enough cardio to last me until at least February. There isn’t a single place on my body that isn’t sore and I fucking love it because deep down in my core I am a masochist. 😂 Truthfully the most exhausting part of this week has to be the amount of social interaction required of me. Don’t get me wrong, I do enjoy interacting with other humans (duh), but in addition to being a sucker for pain, at my core I am also very introverted. My “tank” for socializing fills up very quickly and I find myself needing time alone to decompress and get my head right. Introverted or not, I think it’s important for everyone to take time for themselves. I believe it’s important for not only mental health but physical health as well. As I’m writing this I’m realizing how much I suck at writing and hope I’m getting my point across. I much prefer talking, been thinking about maybe trying out the YouTubezzz but I dunno yet. 🤷🏻♀️ if there’s anything you take away from this ramble it’s this: remember to take time for YOU! 😘 #mindbodysoul

STRENGTHEN YOUR CORE/IMPROVE ANTERIOR PELVIC TILT
I see sooo much anterior pelvic tilt (AKA an arch in the low back) on the 'gram. I have a bit of it myself. And while having an APT does make your booty look more.. bootylicious.. in the long run it's really something you want to work on improving to avoid potential low back pain or other issues caused by poor posture.
I've been working really hard to help fix mine, and one exercise that has really helped me is the one you see me performing here which is known as a hollow hold.
The goal with this exercise is to make sure that your low back maintains contact with the floor the entire time. This position forces the pelvis to tuck underneath you and turns your core the the fuck on. Place your arms overhead so they are in line with your shoulders and lower the legs as much as YOU can while still being able to keep the back glued to the floor.
For some people, this position may look different. Your core may be weaker so you will have to keep your legs up a bit higher, but as you progress you want to try to get the legs lower and lower. I still have a ways to go with my own progress on this hold.
I'd recommend starting off trying to hold this position for 15-20 seconds for three to four sets. Then work your way up to 25,30, and even a 40 second hold. I have another, slightly more advanced core exercise that helps to fix APT that I will post in the next day or so, so stay tuned for that. Let me know if you try this one out! :)
