Try these really easy 6 ingredient protein balls - the recipe makes about 12-15 depending on how big you make them (and how many disappear down your gob whilst making them 😅)... . . Great little energy snacks for mid morning or post workout. (Wouldn't recommend pre workout as they contain some fats from the peanut butter which is slower to digest)... . . You'll need a food processor to pulse the oats but if you don't have one you can just leave them with chunky oats, but you may need to add more pb/milk in this case! . . . Enjoy ♡ . . .

Happy hump day friends! I have been thinking a lot about ⭐️SELF LOVE⭐️ the lovely @blondegoneclean actually got me thinking about it because she talks about it a lot and wrote a really great newsletter about it💕🙏🏼 .. Self love is different then self acceptance- self acceptance is a state of mind (and something I am still working on) but self love requires action. .. I realize this may look like just a matcha latte but it is actually the product of many ACTS of self love. 1️⃣First, I bought my self a milk frother- it cost ~$40 which is more than I felt comfortable spending on myself when I “should” be saving it BUT if you know me you know how much joy warm frothy drinks bring me so I bought it.2️⃣ Then I used coconut milk because it froths better even though my mind says it is a higher calorie count- it tastes and works better so I chose to show my mind and body love (rather than restriction) by using it.3️⃣ Finally, I took the time to myself to sit quietly and drink it- a morning ritual I try to do with a warm drink everyday because it makes me feel SO good all day. .. By doing these little actions, I am TELLING and SHOWING my brain that I love myself and that I am worthy + enough. Continuous self love leads to confidence, something I am working really hard to cultivate. .. So if you can relate or struggle with similar things, I encourage you to take ACTION. Self talk is so important but sometimes action is more powerful at convincing the mind. I'm trying to eat more healthily, so I'm making more soup. This is a vegetable soup, to which I've added some bone broth I made recently. I'll take a couple of ladles out soon and blitz in the blender and add back in to thicken it slightly. I'll freeze some and have some today. Superfood Ballz 👩🏻‍🍳 . These are packed with nutrient dense foods to make a filling and satisfying snack. I used 1 cup of mixed nuts (walnuts, cashews, almonds & Brazil nuts), 2 tbsp @enjoylifefoods choco chips, 1/4 cup almond flour, 7 dates, 1/4 cup shredded coconut, 1 tbsp ashwagandha, sprinkle of cinnamon, 2 tbsp @organictraditions cacao, 2 tbsp cacao nibs, 1 tbsp hemp hearts, 1 tbsp chia seeds, 2 tbsp tahini, splash of almond milk, 2 tbsp melted coconut oil. Blended all up in my @cuisinart food processor then rolled into balls on a cookie sheet & put in fridge to harden. You can store these in the freezer for a quick snack throughout the week 🙌🏼

I stayed neat until the final weeks, weightlifted and continued Pilates until I was almost full term, ate healthily, and enjoyed my time with mini growing strong inside of me. _________________ What I was much less enamoured by was the fact people assumed my pregnancy made my body public property. I optimistically assumed this would disappear once mini was in the world - I was wrong. _________________ My most hated question these days is “so when’re you having the next one?” Because the answer is - “I’m not” _________________ Working with care experienced children throughout my whole career quickly solidified that I wanted to adopt. Now in my dream position at an amazing organisation as a Trauma Counsellor for children and young people, it even further confirmed my want to become a mummy for a child who doesn’t have one. _________________ When explaining this, I’ve been met with odd looks, confusion, stigma. Isn’t adoption only for people who can’t conceive? No. I hope our little family can help break that mould. _________________ And completely off topic - but this meatless mince from @meatlessfarm is the best red meat substitute I’ve ever cooked with!!
Hormone balance is complex and multi-faceted, but one clear facet is that we just aren't eating foods that support hormone balance anymore. Why not? Well, a big reason is that when our brains become accustomed to the "quick hit" flavors in something like, say, a bag of Cheetos or a box of Oreos 🍪 we lose the taste for bitter or pungent flavors. ~ How this impacts hormones: Bitter flavors 👅 are stimulating to the liver and gallbladder and production of bile. When the liver stagnates, we both don't process used-up hormones, and can't detox all the things that impair delicate hormone balance, like xenoestrogens. ~ Bile is a substance that the liver creates, but the gallbladder releases it when we eat foods that contains fat. Fat builds hormones. If bile gets "sludgy" it won't do its job in breaking down fat (hormone building blocks) OR letting us absorb the fat-soluble vitamins we need as cofactors. Additionally, bile helps carry toxins to the large intestine to be removed by the stool . . . and this is impaired if bile flow is reduced. ~ Get bitter from foods like dandelion greens, arugula, endive, radicchio. 🥗 _________ Protein breaks down into amino acids. Organ meats contain different amino acids than muscle meats. Eating ACTUAL liver (and other organ meats) provides us with a variety of amino acids that we would not otherwise get. Quesarito remix! For those new to the term, a quesarito is the flamboyant yet astounding dance between a quesadilla and a burrito! . Taco Bell brings back fond memories of growing up. Believe it or not, when I go back home to Phx, I 'til date must go through the drive-thru and pick something up from there FIRST, before getting home. 😀 I used to order a quesarito without any shame, but now I just feel guilty after eating it. . What an amazing recipe by @rabbitandwolves ! It inspired me to try my own vegan version of the same with the ingredients I had on hand. It was amazingly yummm. Hubby didn't even realize a shift in taste from dairy to non dairy! . The composition: - tortilla wraps made with high protein flour by @getgrowapp - chipotle flavored seitan strips by @sweetearthfoods - organic avocado slices - fresh homegrown green onions - dairy free mild cheddar cheese by @daiyafoods - mexican rice-style black quinoa - dairy free, sugar free, it's all good buffalo ranch sauce by @sirkensingtons . Procedure: Prepare your quinoa with a mix of onions, cumin, paprika, tomato sauce, garlic powder & himalayan salt. Heat up your seitan in a pan. Keep other ingredients shredded, sliced, and ready. Prepare and place the tortilla on a skillet, sprinkle with lots of cheese, and place the other tortilla on top. Once slightly melted, flip the quesadilla over and lightly heat the other side (don't overdo it otherwise you won't be able to roll the burrito). Take off the pan, spread the buffalo sauce generously, fill with the quinoa, avocado, seitan, green onions, and add some more cheese. Roll up with the sides tucked in, and grill on the skillet once more until crispy and lightly browned on both sides. . Muy bueno (very good)!!!! . MORNING ENERGY MUFFINS 🙌🏽 . These muffins are gluten free, refined sugar free, contain loads of fiber, and are the perfect morning treat to keep energy levels stable! Recipe adapted from @erinliveswhole cinnamon swirl banana bread. . Dry Ingredients: 1 & 3/4 cup gluten free baking flour (I use @bobsredmill ) 1 tsp baking soda 1 tsp baking powder A few dashes of cinnamon 2-3 turns of sea salt Wet ingredients: 3 ripe banana (I only had 2) 1/2 cup organic coconut sugar 1/2 cup unrefined coconut oil, melted 1 tsp vanilla 1/2 cup shredded organic zucchini 2 eggs, room temp 2 Tbsp unsweetened almond milk . Directions: add dry ingredients to one bowl set aside. Next, add 🍌 bananas, coconut oil, coconut sugar, and vanilla together. Whisk in two eggs 🥚 then add zucchini. Add DRY to WET. Folding gently to combine. Add 2 Tbsp almond milk 🍶at the end. Option to add dark chocolate chips or walnuts! Fill muffin tins almost full (makes 1 dozen). Bake at 350 for 30 minutes. Extra 2 minutes if not cooked all the way through! Top with almond butter & enjoy‼️
The little babe wakes me up earlier than I used to, which once I get out of bed, I'm thankful for! 🔪Equipamiento y cositas de cocina🔪 Muchas veces en los talleres que comparto o en la consulta surge la pregunta…Y que necesito para empezar? Tú que aparato te comprarías primero? Siempre digo que no hace falta llenarse de cacharros o artilugios costosos que luego ocupan mucho espacio, son difíciles de limpiar y poco prácticos. Pero sí te aseguro, que si tienes algunos básicos, te alegrarán él día! La cocina se hace mucho más fácil cuando tienes poco, pero eso poco que tienes, funciona bien y te soluciona el día a día, te juro que lo vas a agradecer! Cuáles son esos básicos para mi? ✔️Batidora Para mí es fundamental, un Must que vas a amar! Después de haber quemado dos batidoras y una mini pimer, me decidí a comprar una batidora potente, fue toda una inversión, claro! Pero disfruto cada día el haberla comprado, hago batidos, smoothies, cremas, gazpachos, quesos de semillas, salsas, harinas ( por ejemplo de avena o sarraceno partiendo del grano)…y cómo suelen traer “pistón” ( es como un palo que se mete por el agujero que tiene la tapa de la batidora) también hago crema de frutos secos, helados, Hummus. El pistón ayuda a empujar hacia abajo, lo que va subiendo por los laterales y así lograr homogeneizar preparaciones más densas. La diferencia de precio entre una batidora buena, potente (por encima de 800 w) y una regular es muy grande, lo sé, yo también caí en la tentación pero no te vas a arrepentir. Yo uso Vitamix , la he comprado en @conasicocina ,aunque sé hay otras opciones en mercado ✔️Bolsitas de gasa Son bolsitas que se venden para hacer leches vegetales y poder filtrar bien el líquido de su pulpa, pero también nos sirven para hacer zumos verdes, germinados de semillas o granos. Són muy útiles para mi ✔️Cepillo de verduras y frutas Si compras verduras y frutas orgánicas un cepillo te viene muy bien para poder lavarlas bien y sacar los restos de tierra que puedan tener, y así poder aprovechar la cáscara tan rica en nutrientes y fibra de forma segura . Hacemos una segundo post? Obvio que no digo que tienes que tener todo esto ,y mucho menos comprarlo todo junto pero sí son cosas que te harán la vida más fácil…Y para Ti cuál es tu Hit en la cocina? .

Meals don’t always have to be complicated. I absolutely love 💕 zucchini noodles. This one is paired with grilled sausage 😋 Simple, easy to prep. All you need is a grater, food processor or spiralizer for the zucchini and you’re good to go. Take out the seeds before stirfry I get. I usually add garlic to the mix and chilli pepper🌶 depending on how I feel. Not the prettiest of meals but it’s healthy & yummy.
