is a hidden gem serving up delicious zi char style local dishes. They have affordable lunch sets priced at just $7.80++ and they are opened till 1am, so you know where to jio your friends next for supper! 😉 Here's some dishes that we managed to try!~
1️⃣Singapore Style Chilli Prawns ($17.80)
My favourite of the night. Fat and succulent jumbo prawns swimming in a pool of chilli crab sauce that was full of flavour with just the right level of heat for me. Highly recommend getting some (or alot) of their fried mantous to mop up the delicious sauce with. 😍 Served hot with a crisp exterior, the mantous were not too dense and pillowy soft on the inside. 😋👍🏻
2️⃣Grandma's "Te Kah" Bee Hoon ($11.80)
The wok hei in this was really impressive 😋 the bee hoon was soaked in sauce that was flavourful yet not overly salty. The consistency of the bee hoon reminded me of the oyster mee sua thats so famous in Taiwan night markets.
3️⃣Ugly Cabbage in Fish Sauce ($9.80)
Although I've not had the best experience with dishes involving fish sauce, this dish surprisingly agreed with my palate. The crunchy vegetables soaked up the flavourful sauce perfectly. .
4️⃣Chef Joel's Brandy White Fish Soup ($11.80)
Strong and flavourful soup which is achieved through long hours using fish bones. However, I found it a little too fishy for my liking 😅
5️⃣Chef Joel's BBQ Pork Cheek ($14.80)
Premium pork cheek grilled to perfection and served with secret special sauce.

Featuring Aburi Sushi Jewel (I forgot the actual name) from @sushiteisg
, exclusive to the outlet at @jewelchangiairport.
They offered kaisen and aburi versions for this and being an avid lover of aburi style sushi, I chose the latter. So glad that I was not disappointed at all! The ingredients are all so fresh and totally not fishy at all, smth I really appreciate. My favourites are definitely the ebi and salmon, both which are so sweet with the perfect smokiness. The rice beneath is sprinkled with furikake, adding more depth in flavour to the sushi. The quality of the rice here is also on point IMO. A really enjoyable innovative sushi dish I’ll say! Do take note however that this may be a seasonal item as I noticed it didn’t seem to be in their menu when I visited again. Definitely hope to see it back! 🍣

i've tried almost all the coconut water packs in fairprice and my favourite is surprisingly the one from their own brand ($3.20). i'm wary about getting these coconut water packs bc so many of them taste NOTHING like the real thing (which is smth i love) and weirdly taste like gula melaka lol. this one, however, is the closest in taste to what i get fresh from a young coconut. lesson learnt: don't skim over the housebrands! 😂
[Thai Festival 2019] At just $2.50 a pop for these adorable fruit-shaped ice cream, how can you resist getting them?! 😍 .
If you thought that these were real fruits on a stick, look carefully again! 👀 These are actually ice cream which are shaped to resemble real fruits while also bearing the flavours of these fruits! So cool right?! Cool to take photos of and also a cool, refreshing treat to have on a hot day! ☀️ .
The ice cream initially came with a layer of ice crystals on them and I suspected that they might have an icy composition ❄ It was to my pleasant surprise then that the Corn ice cream which I had wasn't icy in the least bit. In fact, it was really creamy and had a smooth texture. So yummy! 😋 .
Besides Mango and Corn 🌽, these sweet treats are also available in Durian, Coconut 🥥, Pineapple 🍍, Orange 🍊 and Tamarind flavours! Which one would you be most interested to try? 😄

Pan-fried rice with chicken chunks, corn, onion & seasoned with ketchup sauce. I selected chilli tomato sauce at the top for more consistent flavours. Potato salad was kinda standard. I added teriyaki chicken hamburger for $3. Really small in size, but flavours was great
Well, people always say the burnt marshmallow is the best marshmallow and Emack & Bolio's has that sorted out for you.. coz it's one of their newest toppings! That satisfying golden color sure makes me salivates.
Not only that, but we also tried the grasshopper pie ice cream and it had us licking til ice cream~ 🤫
I have never heard of such flavor and it is actually a sweet, mint-flavored with Crème De Menthe Liqueur infused and is loaded with Oreos and chocolate flakes. So refreshing! Who wants more?! This was all supported by the Marshmallow Fruity Pebbles cone! 🍦
This is also their first store in Singapore! Here's hoping they HUAT here and open more stores here. Check out other interesting flavors(a total of 33?!) and cones while you're at @jewelchangiairport

haven't been posting much bc i've been making my own meals at home (which tastes good but don't really look as good lol). but anw i wanted to show you what i brought to work today! it's basically overnight oats (rolled oats + organic soy milk + cocoa powder + chia seeds + psyllium husks + coconut flakes + banana + blueberry + goji berries). i made this combo while thinking of an acai bowl... lol i used unsweetened cocoa powder and mixed it in with the soy milk and thought it'd be bitter but its not at all! really really happy with my oats today hehe 🥰 have a good friday y'all!
Very sad that A Summer in Paris has seen closed down. With Citrus Shortbread as the base, and jasmine tea sponge encasing the raspberry and grapefruit compote and finally with a layer of jasmine tea mousse and lychee cremeux that gives the dessert this pastel pink outlook. Tourbillion Fruit’ The has a fruity taste and tartness. Hoping they return again!

Coming from a humble background in Manhattan, Shake Shack has grown to become this mega burger chain. Jewel Changi is their first outlet in Singapore.
I ordered the classic ShackBurger 🍔, Crinkle-cut cheese fries 🍟, and the SG exclusive Pandan Shake 🥤. The ShackBurger consisting cooked patty of 100% all-natural Angus beef, lettuce, tomato, and ShackSauce, placed inside a potato bun. Tender and juicy beef with soft potato bun.
The Pandan Shake is frozen Vanilla custard blended with pandan, coconut and topped with gula Melaka crumble. The pandan flavor comes through strong with the coconut flavor being an after-taste. As this is SUPER concentrated, you are advised to order this to share. lol
I would say this is definitely worth the price.

Skinny Burger Set - $11.50
When you order the skinny burger you will be warned it’s gonna be small, but I never thought it will be that small. It’s a protein only burger, no buns. One patty cut into two, stacked, with the typical burger toppings on the middle. It’s unique but unable to fill my hunger. I top up to a set which comes with free flow soft drinks & a pack of fries. I picked the fat fries. Surprisingly, even the pack of fries are bigger than the burger, nuff said
My favs all in a bowl 🍲 of noodles
Best of the night was Bebek Goreng, Balinese crispy duck done to perfect tenderness, rich in flavour with a heavenly roasted fragrance. To be wrapped in the rice pancakes, this dish is a wow factor that keeps you going for more. Definitely a must try.

Xiao Yang Guo Kui (小杨锅盔)
This unique Chinese snack comes in this thin sheet of crispy flatbread that is most likely bigger than your face. These snacks are not fried but baked in a huge charcoal cylindrical clay ovens. We had the preserved vegetable (梅干菜) flavor and is affordably priced at $2.50. It was fragrant, salty but savory. nom nom nom nom nom!

Their house special - Duck Confit Tagliatelle is one of the first dish created by the owner & it’s no wonder it’s the signature dish ! The handmade pasta dough comes with masala cream, hazelnuts, spinach, lemon zest to give it an extra oomph & a generous serving of duck confit shreds !
When the dish arrived, just the aroma is enough to make me salivate ! I was quite shocked at how good it tasted when I took my first bite. The duck was tender enough to be torn off simply & the pasta dough is something special alright ! I’m definitely looking forward to going back there just to taste this dish again, do head down to try it for yourself ! 🤤

Japanese Matcha Strawberry from Little Po (小波)
Very clearly layered with matcha, fresh milk and strawberry jam but I couldn’t taste the matcha at all. The strawberry bits were pretty good though.
The bowls here are rather straightforward- Simply opt for either the Asian/European/American and then choose from sizes of 50g/100g/150g priced at $10.90/$14.90/$18.90 respectively
I went for the Asian bowl, which I felt was quite refreshing. The Japanese influence is pretty obvious in this, the bowl coming with edamames, cucumbers and even pickled ginger, all of which helped to provide bursts of flavours and a nice crunch. If you don't fancy overly marinated salmon, I think the salmon would suit your palate. However, the dish can get abit salty especially towards the end if you don't mix it well enough because they put quite a fair amount of sauce in your bowl. .
The bowl comes with a base of white rice, which was rather substantial. However, the rice was a little too mushy/sticky for my liking, and i do wish that they had other options such as brown/red rice, which is a common offering to be found at other poke shops. They do have quinoa though!
