With opening night approaching I just wanted to post predictions for both games incase I couldn't do it then.
WARRIORS VS THUNDER: It will be ring night at Oracle and the chef looks more focused. Even with limited minutes, the preseason was a great warmup. Steph looked fresh and on a mission. Not like the 73-9 season (maybe I'm wrong and he averages 30, hey, I wouldn't complain) but following those lines. The Warriors have actually lost each of the last 2 opening nights but should rebound against the Thunder.
With the Thunder, I really suggest paying attention to how they mesh. They just lost to a team led by a rookie and a Frenchman. Of course the Jazz have a fantastic coach and great defensive pieces but most of the NBA had the Thunder making the second round. I want to see if the love between him and Paul translates to the court because that is how they get to the next level. Just look at the Splash Bros, they feed off each other, not disrupt the others night with bad mid range or long 3 pt attempts. Will Adam's have added another layer to his game? I love Adams, legit tough guy, doesn't need the shine, great rebounder and can pass the ball out of the high post. Coach Donovan needs to run more offense through him.
This game could go 2 ways: the Warriors stomp the living daylights out of the Thunder by the 3rd quarter in honor of their 3rd chip in 4 years. Or the Thunder keep it close like Houston and leave it up to the clutch where anything could happen. I want a trademark Steph game: 40pts/4asts/9 3pm. But I want it to be an interesting game where it goes down to the wire and someone steps it up. But Steph games tend to end pretty quickly with a barrage of heartaching 3's. Only certain teams have the defensive iq and offensive capability to stay in the game. On Wednesday, we find out if OKC is one of those strong few.
NOTE: This dude didn't lead the leauge in 3pm last season but came close. Incredible. We all better enjoy it while he's here, greatness.
