A real pain in the neck!! LoL!!
Took a quick break at lunch to try out my first premium, newly purchased, fine woodworking tool. This is a @veritas_woodworking apron plane and I’m pretty sure I love it. I got the upgraded PM-V11 plane iron (for an extra $5, how could I not?). I haven’t put a finished edge on it yet, but it’s pretty seriously sharp right out of the box. Slightly longer than I anticipated but still fits my hand well. Cuts like butter on the kumiko jig, which is where I envisioned getting a lot of use from this tool, besides the usual low angle cutting tasks. I now have nice Narex chisels and even nicer Stanley sweetheart chisels, but chose to use fir on a bunch of asanoha patterns and lack the skill to finish them properly with an open blade. I'm behind on this and I apologize. I needed to do some self care. Today's letter is E. 1.) Energy: I don't know what it is like to have energy any more. I am tired upon tired. No matter how much I sleep. I know that you all can and do relate. 2.) Exhausted: A constant struggle that I can't win. I think at this point it is a permanent state of being. 3.) Elevate: We all need to elevate each other to be the best we can be. 4.) Emergency Rooms: I have had good and bad experiences at the emergency room. I have had to prove that I am not a drug seeker. I have also been taken very seriously when I almost died. We spend a lot of time here. Especially in the beginning of our diagnosis. 5.) Excited: It makes me excited to know that my flares are a temporary thing and I will feel better in time.

The truth is plain and simple....you have to work for what you want. No one is going to do the work for you. And believe me...after 2.5hrs of crappy sleep, 8 hours of intense work and a get up time of 4am... The last thing I wanted to do today was workout. You're never always going to be motivated but showing up everyday and getting it done....that's discipline! I was driving back from work thinking...sleep would be nice. And then I thought...HOW BAD TO YOU WANT TO ACHIEVE THOSE GOALS? SERIOUSLY STEPH...HOW BAD? You have to learn to be disciplined. I didn't think I was strong enough for this program; my husband thought he was TOO strong for this program. . . In the end, we were both wrong. 🙈 . . I completed this 60-day program that I thought I COULDN'T do one day of, and now I'm doing it AGAIN. My husband nearly died trying to keep up with the trainer. 😆 . . And we both couldn't stop laughing! 🤣 . . I didn’t want to workout today. When I say I didn’t want to, I mean I REALLY didn’t want to. I didn’t feel good, my stomach was unsettled, I was tired.. It's pushing me more than I had expected, and I've been in pain for several days. 😫 . My joints hurt (knees and hips), and my shoulder has been killing me from all the plank walks. He started off building legos in the background, and ended up working out on the step with me! 🤜🏽🤛🏼 It’s been a while since I’ve done my workout in front of him (l usually get it done before he’s home from school & today is a holiday). But it was a great reminder that they are watching, that simple movements can be effective for all ages, abilities and skill levels, and not to be afraid to get our kiddos involved in physical fitness! 💪🏽 But FIRST, it’s takes the commitment to YOURSELF! After going “Marie Kondo” on my closet yesterday, I realised this time I had no problem letting go of the stuff that just didn’t feel GOOD on me. ⠀ ⠀ The past 8 months or so, I’ve really been working on “less is more” when it comes to my clothing. I’ve also been working on being more conscious for the things I buy for myself not falling all the time for “fast fashion”. Because when you think about it, all those cheap $10 shirts have to go somewhere someday - even when you donate it. ⠀ ⠀ And did you know where it goes when it doesn’t pass the cut at the thrift store? It goes into pallets that are sold and shipped overseas to third world countries like Zambia and our “fast fashion” addiction has completely annihilated their textile industry, which is a huge part of their economy. ⠀ ⠀ People buy the pallets and literally sell it from piles on the street and in the market - I’ve seen it with my own two eyes so this I know is true. ⠀ ⠀ So what to do about it? Don’t just buy it cause it’s cute and ten bucks and on sale - think of every piece that takes space in your closet as an investment and ask yourself how long you’ll keep it or how long will this be in style? ⠀ ⠀ I’m not saying I’m never going to buy another ten dollar shirt at Old Navy, and yes that’s where I shop for a lot for my kids - BUT what I am saying is that I am farrrrrr more conscious about the quantity of clothing we all have in this house, not being afraid to own or wear second hand and trying to own pieces myself that are versatile, will last me a long time and that make me feel good when I wear them. ⠀ ⠀ Lately, a shop I love is @carlyjeanlosangeles - my whole outfit this day was from there. Except the bag - that’s designed by @jeannelottie for our @arbonnecanada Conference. Had to snap a pic in the #Nordstrom bathroom cause well, I felt pretty!

after all of the rain this last week, it's so nice to see the sun again😍. — decided to spend my afternoon hammocking, and let me tell you.
