Founded in 1989, they help people who are affected by homelessness and poverty to improve their lives and increase self-sufficiency through the provision of social services, employment training and placement, and housing. I also ate garlic sticks, hummus, PERi-PERi nuts, and Naughty Natas (Portuguese egg tarts) as part of the dinner. Everything was so delicious, and I left feeling stuffed with food! 🐔 #surelyhere

was full of amazing bite after amazing bite, and started off with these absolutely delicious pork + ginger dumplings. They were super flavorful and paired with some tasty woodear mushrooms.
Loads of people recommended this restaurant to me when I said I was going to be in Chicago - and now it’s definitely going to be a restaurant I recommend as well! Can’t wait to share some of the other delicious bites we enjoyed.

The industry I love so much doesn’t always treat its workers and chefs very well. It’s a topic that’s been on the forefront lately. But restaurant workers, chefs and the food service workforce is probably one of the TOP MOST UNINSURED WORKFORCE. Zero financial security for families who have their main sources of income coming from food service workers.

Saturday brunch and I was in the mood for some eggs. Hit up @tavernonrush
for the first time and left with a happy belly. Went with the Corned Beef Hash with Eggs and multigrain toast. The dish is normally $13 but I added a couple more eggs to bring the dish to just over $18. Eggs were poached nicely and with good flavor. Hash was crispy and not over-seasoned. The whipped butter for the toast was an added bonus. Paired with a fresh squeezed mimosa and I was “dialed” as my father would say. The service was okay but nothing special. She took care of our table but nothing above and beyond. I’d say it’s a 7/10 After taking a slight hit on the service.
