I have had the privilege of working with many cancer survivors. Meeting and training so many who have gone through so much brings a welcome, inspiring, and humbling perspective of life.
Linda, a stage 3 breast cancer survivor, (@maggiejanenyc
) is one of those people that I am so honored to be able to train, coach, and most importantly, know. Instead of accepting the gut punch that life threw at her, Linda chose to punch right back and fight to reclaim her life!
Thanks so much for inspiring us every single day. We are SO PROUD to call you a member of the PhilanthroFIT family.
Linda will be completing her first @spartanrace
this April and we can't wait to see her cross the finish line!
PLEASE CHECK OUT LINDA'S STORY BELOW, IN HER OWN WORDS... "After a routine mammogram, I was diagnosed for the first time in January 2012 with early stage 0 breast cancer. After assessing all treatment options, and considering my family history, I chose to undergo a bilateral mastectomy in February 2012. Thereafter, despite routinely attending follow-up appointments, I was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer in June 2016. As the cancer was more advanced this time, I had additional surgery and reconstruction, 16 weeks of aggressive chemotherapy, and 6 weeks of daily radiation treatment, finishing in March 2017.
Currently I have no evidence of disease. I am on an aromatase inhibitor, and will be for at least the next 10 years. I’m feeling well , better than I have in a long time. I am working out regularly, which I was unable to do for 2 years." ~ Linda C.
