We’re sooo close to spring! 🌤🍃Just 26 days (and only 17 days until daylight savings)! As someone who loves warmer weather and longer days, this is making me very happy and giving me so much to look forward to as I’m getting closer to beginning my running comeback journey in a few weeks. Have you ever thought about what it would be like to miss literally an ENTIRE season of training? Pretty crazy, right? I have to confess though, if it had to happen to me, winter is the season I would pick! Of all the things I could list that I have missed in the last couple of months, being out in the extra dark, freezing cold, and sideways-raining mornings wouldn’t make the list. 🤷🏼♀️

fam sent me this week that planted the spring-fever bug? It’s the perfect motivational piece that is even more meaningful given the timing that it arrived. It’s officially going to be my spring training top! 💜
I’ve got a little more progress news to share (yay!). In addition to “breaking out of the boot” last week, I’ve taken the initial steps to get into physical therapy to begin working through the muscle/tendon atrophy I’ve developed during 5+ weeks of immobility in my lower left leg (calf, ankle, etc.). My next medical specialist appointment (and X-Ray) is still a couple weeks away, but I’m doing what I can to be as ready as possible when I get that green light to begin my walk/run program.
Other than all of that, it’s been life as usual around here this week. Just trying to do my best at work, get enough sleep, eat well, hydrate, heal a bone, workout, read a little, keep up with friends, and spend time with my husband. You know, livin’ the dream… 🥰
I hope you all have a fabulous weekend! Any big training runs or races happening?? I would have been logging a final long run one week out from the Napa half marathon this weekend, but instead I‘ll be hitting the gym for weights tomorrow (including wrapping up week 5 of my pull-up program💪🏼) & a pool run if I have time, and then I’ll enjoy my second rest day of the week on Sunday. Quite a contrast, but it’s right where I’m supposed to be right now. 💫 #AFewThingsFriday #RunHappy
