I went to explore a new ice cave last weekend together with @southcoast_adventure.
It's just such an overwhelming feeling being humbled by the massive amount of ice above your head.⠀
... a dream machine...
Sun Voyager, a sculpture by one of Iceland's most remarkable sculptor and artists Jón Gunnar Árnason, who left a successful career as a mechanic to become an artist, is located next to the Sæbraut road in Reykjavík, Iceland.
Constructed of quality stainless steel it’s standing on a circle of granite slabs surrounded by so-called “town-hall concrete”.
It’s a common misunderstanding that Sun Voyager is a Viking ship.
Jón Gunnar Árnason was himself very ill with leukaemia at the time that the full-scale Sun Voyager came to be constructed, he died in April 1989 at 58 a year before it was placed in its present location.
The Sun Voyager is described as a dreamboat, or an ode to the sun. The artist intended it to convey the promise of undiscovered territory, a dream of hope, progress and freedom...
My drone almost got hit by some over-enthusiastic birds this morning. It did make for a cool photo tho.
When there's an absolutely great day forecasted during winter, it's hard to not go out and enjoy it to the fullest. This beauty is Skógafoss in its proper winter attire. What do you prefer? Summer or winter? ⠀
Maybe the last picture of my trip to Iceland. Very limited prints will be available from March 1st on mrmaxcremer.com. More on this soon! In the future, I would like to show more of Germany. There are also some nice places here🤙🏼
A tiny island in the Bay of Kotor, Montenegro.
Just one of those green nights...⠀
Flying through the Swiss alps. Thanks @airzermatt
for an incredible flight!
I wish we had mountains in Holland, instead we have silly trees that rather stand in the water than on land.
Summer feels like a distant memory nowadays with this huge amount of snow here in Iceland. The place where I took this photo is now all but reachable. I'm already thinking about exploring more of the highlands next summer.⠀
Snowy peaks of the Sierra Nevada, Spain.
Waves of snow. Which do you like better, summer or winter?
Well it does not get any better than this sometimes. Just your average winter day at Gullfoss along the Golden Circle. A classic setting with a beautiful backdrop.⠀
One of my favorites. Soft early evening light.
This little guy can be found on the beach near Hvítserkur. It's not a big waterfall but it contains so much tiny details.⠀
Can you hear the silence? 🙉
