GET FIT TOGETHER
I remember being quite sedentary the whole day after my workout. Not realizing that a 1 hour workout is just 4% of my day. .
With desk jobs we barely ever move. Neck aches, shoulder pains, carpel tunnel, back issues, weight gain, diabetes, pcos … so many of these are caused directly or indirectly due to our sedentary lifestyle. .
I had gestational diabetes when I was pregnant. For 6 months I had to prick my finger after ever meal!! The simplest way for me to keep my post meal sugar levels under control was to go for a 10 min walk post EVERY meal. .
I realized the importance of just moving and the crucial role it played. This video of Pratap (swipe right) reminded me of my grandfather. Who walked nearly 6km a day even at 86 !! He was fit beyond his year. It reminded me how health is not just for today but an investment for a lifetime.
How health and well being isn’t till the next party or next wedding. It’s to lead a better life especially as we age.
I’ve been wearing a @Fitbitin
for years now. You’ll see it in all my pics, be it when I’m working out, whether I’m formally dressed or in a saree!!! My husband and I got one each. Yes working towards #FItFamilies
is a priority.
A lot of you have been asking how I track calories. My fitbit has a heart rate sensor so it estimates the calories I burn in a day. However, the aim is to get #FitTogether
. To move more, to sleep better, eat better in order to just feel better. Both physically and mentally. Let’s do this together.
I think when you start anything, this should be your focus.
Overall better wellbeing, for you and your family.
Do you agree ?
Should we start a simple series tomorrow ?
