Dear Mr. President, As you and fellow #politicians
fail miserably at doing your jobs, I’d like to share a #story
about one man that accomplished bigly.
Garrett Morgan, seen here at East Broadway (F train), was an African American born to freed slaves and a #mother
half Native American. With only a 6th grade education he left home for Ohio at 16, where as a young man, took a job at mining.
To breathe in the tunnels under Lake Eerie he constructed an #ingenious
hood w pipes reaching cooler, cleaner #air
at the ground.
When fellow miners accidentally struck a natural gas line in 1916, he put on that hood and entered the flames, rescuing #coworkers
of all #faiths
and ethnic backgrounds.
Garrett’s invention is credited as the first gas mask that inspired all #future
designs, collectively saving #millions
of lives to this day.
enjoyed this #little #story
of a man, because of his #appearance
, you probably would have dismissed and certainly not rented to or worked with. That’s a damn shame. Good luck.
Resisting, Jilly Ballistic
