portrait of me for her upcoming Tough Women exhibition at Canary Wharf.
It's funny - I never think of myself as 'tough'. I mean, I've suffered from chronic panic attacks, am scared of big hairy spiders and convinced there's a Great White lurking in every pond. But of course being 'tough' isn't about what you look like, or whether you're afraid - it's about pushing your own boundaries, not giving up, and (to use the late Susan Jeffers' famous phrase) feeling the fear and doing it anyway.
Sadly I'll be in Jordan when Nyla's exhibition launches on International Women's Day, but if you're in London that day (March 8th) there will be talks from @pipstewart
and Beth French at the Everyman cinema in Canary Wharf, followed by a screening of a short documentary and - of course- the chance to see all of Nyla's fantastic photos.
Well done to Nyla for being a tough woman herself and making this all happen - and how lovely to be asked to be part of it. Up the Women I say!!
