One more from last night, professional style in front of the Hessian at DCA. It was such a trip to see how many people pointed at @roseygardner
(aka Queen Elizabeth II) and were like “look kids! It’s the Queen!” Women especially loved to wave and even more so, get a wave back! The little princesses loved her crown, too. I kept getting side eyes, most people didn’t get the giant Prince George but whatevs. I guess I’ll have to hire @garyjanetti
to polish the act. 😉 Also came up with a new phrase: Happy “Hallowed Queen” Fun times! #MNSSHP #GodSaveTheQueen
! #🇬🇧👑 #QueenElizabethII #PrinceGeorge
A display of celebration for HRM Queen Elizabeth II’s coronation at Selfridge’s, London, 1953.
On the left, you can spot Queen Elizabeth I’s statement to Parliament in 1596, in which she describes her time as Queen: “...the kingdom hath had many wise, noble, and victorious princes—but in love, care, sincerity, and justice, I will compare with any prince that ever you had or will have.”
On the right, an excerpt of Queen Elizabeth II’s Christmas speech from 1952, her first ever. It reads: “...with a new faith in the old and splendid beliefs given us by our forefathers, and the strength to venture beyond the safeties of the past, I know I shall be worthy of our duty.”
The middle depicts the two Elizabeths, the old and the new. This display truly brought a great message about the power of the new Queen, the legacy she follows, and the legacy in which she would create ♡
