Recovery session today. In the gym, spinning my legs out. Massage later. Also trying a funky smoothie I never had before, it has spinach, banana, apple, orange and coconut water. I like it. Lets get the flab off now!!! #HealthyDiet #healthyliving #running #fitness #training #workout #stevenage #stevenagestriders #teamdanik #PridePassionAmbition #RoadtoValencia

HERTFORDSHIRE HALF MARATHON COMPLETED November 19th 2017: the scene is Knebworth House near my fantastic home town of Stevenage and possibly the only town in the UK early on a Sunday morning, that can cause of a traffic jam on the highway next door due to the crappy traffic lights on the slio roads. Gridlock everywhere. So I had to park at the home of Stevenage FC, a club which is going places and much better than Hitchin down the road. Anyway, the race. Its the first time this was being held. Nice run around the grounds before tackling the hilly countryside. It was very chilly & had the heavy gloves on. My plan was to do a steady run & not race it. That went to plan. However the last major hill near Codicote and near the finish line killed me & had to walk it. More strengthing work needed. Was going to be first Strider home but Jenny Ingram-Tedd overtook on that hill! I couldnt keep up with her as she ran into the horizon & I think she could have done more miles. Fine form. Despite rolling on my ankle at the start line, I finished the 21km (13.1 miles) in 01-55-42, 700th out of 1989 runners. Around three minutes knocked off my HM time in Stevenage HM a month ago. Happy I did knock off a few minutes but should have been more. 13 miles in the bag as I regain my fitness and lose weight. Thank you to everyone for the support! Lets do this together! We are Stevenage! Stride on! #running #fitness #training #workout #stevenage #stevenagestriders #teamdanik #PridePassionAmbition #RoadtoValencia #21km #hertfordshirehalfmarathon

All set for tomorrows half marathon (21km / 13.1 mile) race at Knebworth House in Hertfordshire, UK. The race is known as the Hertfordshire Half Marathon and its the first ever time this event is being held. Cant wait to run the country lanes around Hertfordshire. Forecast is clear and chilly. Bring on tomorrow. Cant wait to get back into race action. #running #fitness #training #workout #stevenage #stevenagestriders #teamdanik #PridePassionAmbition #RoadtoValencia #21km #hertfordshirehalfmarathon
PARKRUN 106 COMPLETED - Chelmsford Central, Essex, UK Latvia's 99th birthday today so to celebrate, I did the 5m (3.2 miles) parkrun course at Chelmsford today which was a nice warm up before tomorrow's half marathon (21km - 13.1 miles) race at Knebworth House, Hertfordshire, UK. Took it steady as I have been nursing a slight niggle on my right leg this week and had no problems with it this morning. First mile (1.6km) I did in 7 minutes before slowing up a bit for the next mile before turning up the pace on the last mile with a power run in the last 200 meters. Happy with the performance and hopefully can carry this on through to the race tomorrow. Today's result is also my fastest 5km time since I did the Basildon Parkrun in middle -February (but didn't beat that time of 23-24). But the good thing is the fitness is coming back and the pacing is getting better. I am hoping in the next few weeks to push on another level, put a few adjustments into my training plan and also change my diet slightly which I will be reviewing this week. Completed the 5km (3.2 mile) course in 23-37, finishing in 125th out of 561 runners. This was my 57th different course on the Parkrun circuit. Like to say a huge thank you to all the guys behind the event at Chelmsford Central Parkrun today. Loads of people involved for this beautiful one lap course around two parks in the centre of town, along rivers, under a beautiful railway viaduct and lots of golden colours of leaves as it is Autumn. Well organised and they have the longest funnel I have come across at the finish line as well. Very well organised! Couldnt resist posting this. This is when the 2015 Kent Coastal marathon used a photo of me on their advertising campaign. I took part in that marathon the year before. This featured on posters and in local newspapers in Margate area of Kent, UK. Was representing my old club Fairlands Valley Spartans at the time. #PridePassionAmbition #Stevenage #running #RunningBuddies #Fitness #marathonrunning #marathons #42km #weareStevenage #TeamDanik #workoutmotivation #Workout #training
