My apartment gym decided to dismantle a bunch of the gym equipment today so I couldn’t follow my training program. Do you feel strong? 💪 While I was at the gym today, I had a great leg workout and physically felt really strong. But something that I haven't really thought about in a long time is how strong I feel mentally... 💪 When I first started going to the gym, I would only use machines that had pictures showing me what to do. Going to the gym was a scary and intimidating experience, which was very difficult to over come... 💪 Not only are you worried about looking dumb by doing an exercise incorrectly, but you're also wearing clothes that you may not be so comfortable in (leggings leave nothing to the imagination🙄)... 💪 How did I get over this insecurity? I kept SHOWING UP. Anything new is going to scare you a bit, but if you stay consistent, it won't be new therefore not so scary/intimidating... 💪 I was that person who made every excuse either not to go to the gym or just run on the treadmill in the farthest corner for an hour, then walk out with my head down like I was ashamed or embarrassed ... 💪 What I'm here to tell you is, most people that look like experienced gym goers have been where you are. We all have to start some where, and many have some pretty interesting stories to share.... 💪 So next time youre thinking of skipping a workout bc you're intimidated, scared and repeating every excuse in the book in your head, SHOW UP ANYWAY. Start talking to people you see frequently bc I can almost guarantee they will welcome you with open arms and make you feel like part of the #community

Told myself that by the end of the year, i would bench 225 as many times as i did in the regional combine. When i was 22 i pressed it 23 times as an unknown player. At 27 after a couple broken vertabraes, separated shoulder, heart murmur, and aggravated knees have derailed my training over the past few years today was my las saturday lifting on a Saturday in 2018. I told my self i would hit 25 reps nut only wanted 22. Ended up getting 25. Squat Day Round 2 • This went slightly better than Thursday... Worked up to 435 and got it for 1 again. Dropped all the way down to 315 and did 4x4 @ 315, 335, 365, then 405. Went low bar for the 405 set and holy shit did it feel a lot better on my quads. Thanks @mattmcq_strength for telling me to switch over. Gonna do this for a while to give my quads a bit of a break. First meet in the books. Unofficial one, but great experience. Went 8/9 with a deadlift PR. Really happy with my bench, missed a PR squat. For a week filled with pulled muscles and a pretty bad sinus infection, I'm really happy. Thanks to @powercrushnapa , @lifter_tech , @rugymn for hosting this and putting on a great event. Confession, I took these pictures for a project but figured why not share them on here for deadcember🙈 Have you used the hex bar / trap bar before? This deadlift variation may be more comfortable for you than a conventional deadlift. Additionally, research shows that the hex bar keeps the load closer to your body’s center of mass which enables you to be more upright & thus help reduce stress in your low back. You can also lift a heavier load using the hex bar compared to a conventional barbell deadlift🦵🏽🦵🏽🦵🏽try it out🤗 for strength development I would recommend 4x4 at 85% of your 1RM.‼️Grab the bar in the middle of the handle to keep the weight from leaning fwd or back. Remember to keep your back aligned, shoulders rolled back, and chest and head up. Hold your breath until the weight passes your knees, then exhale. Push through the floor and extend through your knees & hips simultaneously. To descend, simultaneously flex your knees & hips and sit back like you’re sitting in a chair. I did it before, so I know I can do it again!😤 Jeg har kigget "før og efter" billeder i min telefon, for at stoppe mig selv i at dunke mig selv i hovedet. Ja jeg har taget på, ja jeg har tabt mig og taget på igen 4 gange hvis ikke mere nu.. jeg er simpelthen så dårlig til at holde fast. Jeg opnår resultater, bliver pave stolt og smider hele lortet på gulvet og slår mig selv endnu hårdere i hovedet..😪 jeg kan ikke love at det stopper, for det har jeg sagt hver gang, men det sker igen og igen. Men jeg vil prøve at holde fast i min træning, lade vær med at kaste alting i hovedet bare fordi jeg er "pæn nok til at kunne gøre det" (eller hvad pokker jeg dog tænker, når jeg er så tarvelig ved min krop, at proppe den med en masse ulækkert farvestof og fedt..) Jeg har fået blod på tanden, til at gøre det igen, til at tage mig selv, min krop, min træning og min kost seriøst 💪😤 Jeg gider ikke at være "tyk og doven" jeg vil være udholden, stærk, smidig og sund💪 om jeg så er tyk eller tynd vil jeg skide på, jeg vil bare kunne mere🏋🏼‍♀️ - fedtet sætter sig jo heldigvis anderledes/ bliver til muskler når man træner, så jeg håber da på at kunne gå en str ned en dag. Jeg har haft en rigtig lorte aften, fordi jeg revnede et par bukser ved at prøve dem på og gå i huk😓 det ramte mig og jeg fik da lige svinet min krop godt og grundigt til og det gik også lige udover Nick 😪 heldigvis ved han at det ikke er hans skyld men fordi jeg bliver skide sur og ked af det. Det skal stoppe.
