“Rules for happiness: have something to do, someone to love and something to hope for.” – Philosopher Immanuel Kant
We definitely have that going on!
Something to do –
Mend Apollonia, the Classic 1963 double planked Bill Tripp design wooden hull which fell during Hurricane Irma in the British Virgin Islands.
Someone to love –
Boat family is as tight a bond as blood family; you live, eat, work together and look out for one another (plus it’s great to see my island family). Something to look forward to –
Sail Apollonia off to The Antigua Classics Regatta April 20th, then sail her beyond! And maybe I’ll perform from her mast for everyone too!
Ambitious BUT check out what has been done!
It’s been a little over 3 weeks since I’ve been back. The fellas, Harry Ricciardi (wooden boat builder of Gannon & Benjamin) & Thorpe Leeson (Captain, Owner & BVI Resident) began repairs 4 weeks prior to my arrival. There has been great progress which can be seen in the photos. The main hole will be closed this week! Still much to do to get her to Antigua! Exciting project for sure!
Follow our progress! Interested in this project and story? Want to race on board the vessel in Antigua!? Charter options available. Reach out to myself email@example.com
