Two Little Girls by Frances Vick "Do you think lying is wrong?" This book is about two little girls, Lisa and Kirsty. In fact best friends forever. But after an argument in the park, Kirsty walks home alone and Lisa is never seen again. The case seems closed when the killer confesses. But 30 years later Kirsty leaves the life she loves to move back to a place she hates. Being back home she is determinated to finally uncover the truth.
This was my first book by Fances Vick and I really liked it. I think the storyline was really good with a twist I never saw coming. It was hard for me to put the book down. Can't wait to read the next one.

Happy Release Day to Two Little Girls by Francés Vick! Thanks so much to @netgalley
for sending me an early release copy of this one! I’ve been in such a thriller mood and this one certainly delivered!
This is one story with one heck of a twist! Trust me when I say this.. you will literally not know what hit you at the end. I love the kind of books that have you doubting everyone from the main character down to the most insignificant supporting character, I just didn’t know what to think for the entirety of this book; I kept on suspecting everyone and believing that it would turn out in one way only for it to be a whole other different thing.
This is one twisted book, so twisted that you won’t know what to believe after all is said and done. I definitely did feel for the main character, Kirstie cause.. had I been her, I would have definitely gone crazy from everything that was happening. From losing a best friend at such a young age, being cajoled by police officers into saying something that wasn’t all that true, to being bullied by the media and people of this disturbing small town.. it was a wonder that Kirstie grew up to be a somewhat functioning adult married to a man (who also does waaay too many suspicious things that turn out to be just true coincidences), but one selfishly-childish sister brings Kirstie back to this evil small town where everything comes to a head and we finally find out what truly happened to Lisa all those years ago.
A must read if you loved Colleen Hoover’s Verity or Gone Girl!

Happy publication day to France Vick. Enjoy your day! 🍾👏.
About the book:
An innocent girl is taken. The family’s lodger confesses.
But that’s not the whole story. That’s not even the beginning…
It’s 1985 and the disappearance of ten-year-old Lisa Cook shocks the nation. Her best friend, Kirsty, traumatised and fearful, gives evidence that helps to put the Cook family’s lodger behind bars. …But what if Kirsty made a mistake?
Now, decades later, Kirsty leaves a life she loves to move back to the hometown she hates – tortured by her memories, she’s determined to finally uncover the truth about what happened to Lisa that day. But someone is waiting for her there, someone close to her family. Someone who is hoping to finish off a job that was started years ago.

This did not go the way I expected it to! In a good way. It starts with the original case in the 80's then jumps forwards to different points in Kirstys life until we get to the present day. Kirsty moves back to help her sister and that's when things go wrong. I enjoyed the unexpectedness of this and the keep you guessing aspect. Thank you @netgalley

‘I’m not safe – you have to help me”
completely caught me off guard. This is a story of a very young girl from a troubled family background. She is quiet, reserved, and very clearly neglected.
I just loved the fast-paced energy of this book and found myself empathizing with both of the main characters at various times.
You should really read this if you are looking for a quick, lively, thriller with a well played twist.
Update:🌟🌟🌟🌟This book kept me second guessing myself, it was entertaining and I recommend.
Little Lorna Bell is from a notorious family on a rundown estate. Everyone thinks she’s a nasty piece of work. The schoolchildren call her a thief. But Lorna’s hair is matted, her shoes pinch her feet and school teacher Claire Penny can’t help herself; some kids just need a bit more support, a bit more love, than the rest.
As the bond between teacher and pupil grows stronger, Claire sees Lorna’s bruises, and digs to uncover the disturbing tale behind them. Heartbroken, Claire knows she has to act. She must make Lorna safe. Just when Claire thinks she has protected Lorna, a chance encounter brings enigmatic stranger Marianne Cairns into their lives. Marianne seems generous and kind but there is something about her story that doesn’t quite add up. Why does she feel so at home, and why is Lorna suddenly so unsettled?

Interesting galley: this title must have been nixed mid-process, because once I downloaded this, the name was changed to “Liars” instead. The subtitle is “ A gripping psychological thriller with a shocking twist”. That seemed to me to sound more like a blurb you put on the back of a book, and not in the title, but it’s quite true. In fact, there were several twists. I’m not sure I liked the ending, but that only means I’d begun to feel somewhat sorry for one of the characters. If, like me, you’ve gotten a little hard to shock, try this one out. Your jaw will drop, and you will also be very proud of your own sanity. #liars #thegoodliar #francesvick #bookouture #storyfireltd #psychologicalthriller #2018reads #bookstagram #egalley #ereader #ilovemykindle #netgalley #embroidery #ebookappreciation #bookstagramtogetherjuly #drc #digitalgalley #suspense
2018: Book 16
Title: The Good Liar (aka Liars)
Author: Frances Vick
When Jenny Holloway learns that her mother's body has been found laying face down in a mound of snow, she feels partly responsible. She took a night off from being Sal's full-time carer, and this is what happens. Jenny can't help but feel that if only she'd been there instead of spending the night at the home of her best friend, Freddie, her mother would still be alive. An unexplained death, the police are called in to investigate and Jenny feels she's under suspicion. Is that guilt at having not been home, or does Jenny truly have something to hide? Venting on her blog doesn't help. Some of her usually supportive followers turn on her too, making Jenny feel even worse. If that's even possible.
At Sal's funeral, Jenny meets David Crane. A former classmate that she hasn't seen for years, David's able to provide Jenny with an alibi for the night her mother died. He claims to have seen her a few miles away, walking down the street at the time in question. Unfortunately for Jenny, David has an ulterior motive that's been years in the making. And when the pair begin dating, nobody could've forseen the path the relationship would lead them down. Freddie is suspicious of David and worries his best friend is in an abusive relationship. Something doesn't seem right and he tries to convince Jenny that David isn't what he seems. But uncovering long-buried secrets has disastrous consequences for them all.
With a title like The Good Liar (aka Liars) you know at least one of the characters isn't what they appear. But who is lying, about what and why? So much uncertainty makes for a good page-turner and in this title Frances Vick has crafted a clever story about secrets, lies and maniuplation; a story about people having their own versions of the truth, often twisting it to fit their own narrative; a story that constantly leaves you questioning what may or may not be true.
Note: Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for giving me the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

RELEASING ON: 26 Jan, 2018
This story has 3 main characters Jenny, David and Freddie. Jenny and Freddie are best friends. Then comes a stranger David. He is perfect from outside. Jenny likes him. Her friend Freddie thinks there's something fishy about David. But Jenny thinks he is perfect. So Is Freddie seeing things or Is David really bad? But who is real and who is fake ? Who is lying ? Who is controlling the twists ?? I enjoyed this book, it was well thought out and had great detail. It dragged on for me a few times.
The story was ok.
The writing was ok.
The characters were ok.
It was all just very ok.
This book is also known as 'The Good Liar' #thegoodliar

This book is actually called "Liars" now. I got an arc from netgalley and arcs are always subject to change and this one apparently had a title change. ****
This was an excellent psychological thriller. I liked the way it was written. I loved that the confusion of everything had me reading more and more to figure out exactly what was going on. I had no idea who was crazy, who wasn't, or who was craziest. 5 stars. #liars #francesvick #netgalley #arc
Quite enjoyed The Good Liar by Frances Vick.
Brilliant starting pace and really got into the storyline but as soon as they introduced David I thought it got a bit boring and lost interest from there through how irritating he was and what happens happens in the book😕
May try to re-read it sometime this year.

📖13. Bad Little Girl - Frances Vick ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (pub 2/22/17)
Bookouture has done it again and #CJSReads2017
couldn't be more pleased in our luck of all these great thrillers! Watch for our group reviews on pub day tomorrow!🙌🏼👩🏻💻
Claire is a teacher who brings Lorna under her wing as she notices Lorna is having trouble fitting in. Lorna is from a poor family, lacks any hygiene or good manners but Claire knows it's just because of her upbringing. Her mother and her mother's boyfriend hit her and yell at her in public. Lorna cries from the shoes that don't fit her feet and from the lack of attention she receives at home. No one will listen to Claire that Lorna needs help. Why can't anyone else see the bruises on Lorna's body and the pain in her eyes. As years pass, Lorna and Claire develop a mother/daughter type bond and they take off to take Lorna away from the abuse. Here Marianne enter their lives on a chance encounter that rapidly goes south. Bonds shift and now it's a matter of who will win this wicked game.
Bookouture is on FIRE with all these great releases! Bad Little Girl is no exception. The prologue sucks you in and then it slow burns you to a thrilling ending. For me, the book was less about the title and more about Claire and her grief, saviour complex and lack of self esteem. The slow burn comes from the build up of Claire and Lorna's relationships over years which ultimately culminates into a fantastic ending! The last quarter of this book really did it for me. Kids with no moral compass? CREEPY. Sign me up!😱
