Stoked to announce Burton Girls #GetDownRiseUp campaign - officially kicking off today! πŸ’•πŸ€™πŸ½ A platform to encourage women from all around the world to chase their passions & do what they do best, no matter how many times you may fall down in the process. I honestly don’t know where I would be without my friends & family who have consistently lifted me up through all my ups & downs. Snowboarding is what sparked my love for the mountains when I moved to this state 10 years ago - this incredible sport has gotten me through some of my darkest & hardest days, and have found so much love for what it represents. Blessed to be apart of these amazing @burtongirls who consistently choose to uplift one another. πŸ™ŒπŸ½β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”-This last year I’ve had the time of my life representing Burton Girls & am even more excited for all the adventures in this next year to come. Last week, I had the privilege of spending an entire week at the @mountaintrek Wellness Retreat Spa & Lodge. Going into the program, I went in feeling drained, lethargic, foggy minded & dull. Lucky for me, @mountaintrek offered an amazing program that encompasses all levels of Wellness, from Nutrition, to Functional Fitness, to Detoxification, Hiking, Stress Management, Weight Loss & Goal Setting. We had a pretty strict schedule, though it was equally effective & relaxing. The staff of @mountaintrek cooked all of our meals, did our laundry, cleaned our dishes & literally took away most of our daily stressors. All we really had to do was focus on ourself, & on our HEALTH! I have now gone 10 days with no caffeine, alcohol, artificial foods, added sodium, added sugar & social media. After completely the program, I honestly have more stamina & vitality than I ever have before. My mental health is on point, my brain has gotten rid of the fog & I feel ,for the time, I have complete control over my life (Hallelujah) πŸ™ŒπŸ½ My % Body Fat dropped from 25% to 21% & gained 1.5 lbs of muscle πŸ’ͺ🏽😏. My stay at @mountaintrek was truly a once in a lifetime experience, & am so grateful for the quality of health I have now obtained through this journey! Be sure to check out my IG story for more details on the program. Happy Tuesday to all you amazing people out there! βœŒπŸ½πŸ’•πŸ¦‹
This morning I woke up to a brutal case of food poisoning - it was the first time I had gotten this sick in over a decade. 😞 Though I am finally feeling better, you could say the last 24 hours have been miserable! However, as I am planning for an upcoming wellness/detox trip in Canada this next week, you could say that I might have gotten a head start on the program! 😏 Starting today, I am (temporarily) giving up caffeine & alcohol, as I travel to Nelson B.C. To visit the @mountaintrek Hiking/Wellness Lodge for a week in the mountains. I am super thrilled & am stoked to share my wellness journey with you along the way... officially ready for a rejuvenated, cleaner, healthier version of myself! Have any of you tried any detox programs & have they worked? πŸ“· | @beauramsey
13 Brutally Honest Reasons Why I Go Hiking β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β € 1. To Detox all of the bullshit that is constantly running through my mind. β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β € 2. To Reset: reset my priorities - reset my goals - reset my batteries. β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β € 3. To get in a solid workout & get my heart rate pumping! πŸ‹πŸ½β€β™€οΈ After all #mountainsbuildbooties β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β € 4. Because nothing in the world is more refreshing than a ice cold beer (or two) at the top of a peak.🍺 β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β € 5. To spend time with Bae - because quality time is our love language & the outdoors tends to always bring us closer together. β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β € 6. Because I am fascinated by nature & all its intricate little details. Life seems to make more sense when you slow down & observe our fragile ecosystem.πŸŒ²πŸ‚ β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β € 7. Because I tend to put up thick walls, rarely letting anyone get close to me - somehow hiking allows me to break down those barriers & let new people into my life. Love all all of my amazing friends who I've met in the along the way! πŸ‘£ β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β € 8. Because society seems pretty divided & screwed up at times - hiking is my escape from all of the division going on in the world.🌏✌🏽 β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β € 9. Because food tastes amazing in the mountains!! No calorie limit, bring it on. Carbs, carbs, carbs!!! πŸ“πŸ§€πŸ₯‘πŸ•πŸ”πŸ« β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β € 10. Because hiking is mental medicine. I struggle from severe anxiety, & hiking is my coping mechanisms. I used to take medication years ago - but it left me feeling lethargic and unmotivated. Its all about those natural endorphins, folks - no prescription required! βœ”οΈ β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β € 11. To pray. Because I love spending time with God. He > i πŸ™πŸΌ β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β € 12. For the adrenaline, for the adventure, for the thrill! Nothing wakes you up like a warm cup of exposure! β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β € 13. Because my goal in life is to utilize my talents to encourage others to live a happy, healthy life. I care for others & thrive on making the world a better place. For me, that starts with inspiring women, and men, to be strong, confident & courageous - to follow their dreams & to follow their passions. β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β € πŸ“· | @beauramsey
Hello Gorgeous, I see you! πŸŒ²πŸ’›πŸπŸ‚πŸ‘€
With everything that's going on in the world, I can't help but mourn, feel compassion, anger, anxiousness, sadness, pain & honestly frightened all at the same time. Reality is that this world doesn't seem to be getting any better, it only seems to be getting worse. β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β € However, it's good to remember with great pain, comes great beauty. Though how terrifying & horrific the Las Vegas massacre was on Sunday, I keep on hearing stories of valiant heroism. Through all of the pain, death, fear, blood & terror, humanity rose together & united as one! The community lifted each other up, sacrificed their lives for loved ones, strangers stayed back & died to help innocent people flee from harm, police officers risked their lives to save the lives of thousands, medical personal managed to save lives of unimaginable injures...the stories are endless! πŸ™ŒπŸ½ β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β € It's in moment like these that the true spirit of man kind shines - caring, kind, compassionate, genuine, valiant & loving! And though I am truly devastated to hear what has happened in Las Vegas and will continue to pray for their families, I am honored to hear such incredible acts of kindness in the mist of pure evil - It is the spirit of Loving one another, helping one another, and standing up for GOOD that makes us who we are. ✨ β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β € No matter what political party you stand for, your nationality, sexuality, religion or social class - we need to remember any of those 59 killed/500 + injured could be one of us. The way the community rose & the way the valiant heroes acted Sunday night is how we should treat each other on a daily basis. Because that is love - putting others before ourselves, no matter our differences.⚑️ β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β € So, it's in these times that we should draw closer to family & friends, cherish the little things in life. DO the things you love to do - go for a hike, read a book to your kids, make that delicious red apple pie! Don't be afraid to live your life in a world filled with evil - don't let the bad overcome the good - be relentless in your pursuit to make this world a better place & in the process remember to be a blessing to all those around you.✌🏽 πŸ“·@outofthewoods
Be the light you wish to see in the world. πŸ’• β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β € Ps. Thanks for everyone who chimed in on my past post! Excited to get to know you ✌🏽
A little piece of my heart.. πŸ’• β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β € Over the last few months, I’ve taken the time to think about what Instagram really means to me. Capturing, editing & writing captions.. it honestly takes up so much time & energy. I feel like I have this undying need to constantly be sharing my life, my journey, my adventures.. but all for what? β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β € Am I in this for the likes? The fame? The occasional sponsored posts? Travel opportunities? Free gear? - I’ll be brutally honest, maybe it was at first, but those elements left me feeling selfish & empty inside. Don't get me wrong, I am forever grateful for the incredible opportunities that have & will open up for me through Instagram - but I want to take this platform to a deeper lever of purpose & meaning. So.. after months of consistently pondering, I've come to the realization that this INSTAGRAM thing really isn’t about me.. what's it's really all about IS YOU!! (holla!) β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β € Somehow, something about me has drawn you to press the follow button on my page. Whether it’s because of nice photos, fun hikes, or a cool captions, you have chosen to follow my adventures & with that follow my heart! πŸ’•Over the last few years, I have truly enjoyed sharing some of my favorite adventures with each of you - But now it's time to learn more about you!! β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β € So, If you've read this ridiculous novel up until this point, I would love to hear your story, your journey, your dreams, your crazy wild random adventures, your struggles, your wisdom, you heart. Tell me I dare you!! I want to get to know you! πŸ€™πŸ½β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β € I ask because I care & hope to do a better job at being a positive influence in our community, wherever you are from! I want to share with you REAL stories that will not only encourage you to get outside, but help you get through a difficult or challenging time in your life. β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β € Life is too short to be lived all alone, so be a good friend, reach out a helping hand, spread joy & kindness around you everywhere you go, & NEVER stop being YOU!
We car camped in the back of my little hatchback, went to bed way too late, barely slept, woke up at 4 am, hiked in the dark & raced up the mountain... all so we could make it in time to watch the sun rise at one of our favorite spots! - Though groggy and tired, we couldn't have been happier to be in the wilderness, enjoying those blissful moments of that soft morning light. Soaking up those sweet alpine meadows before they are covered in a blanket of snow!
Spent the last day of summer watching the sunset through the clouds, eating lots of dried banana chips, & hanging out with a solid crew! Now it's time to watch the leaves turn to gold & the hills glimmer with layers pristine snow. Summer, you've been too good to me! PC | @outofthewoods
